We are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, safety, or policy issues, please contact either the Director or one of the Administrative Assistants.

Coaches are required to utilize the OnDeck platform for communicating electronically with Parents & Athletes.  To sign up for text messages, log in to your account and enter your SMS (mobile) number and carrier information.  If you don't receive communications, check your account to see if you have "opted out" of emails and/or texts.

Dani Caldwell

Director, Senior Development Coach


Coach Dani has been coaching for over 20 years on USA-Swimming club teams.  In 2006 she and her husband, Adam, took over a local team and started building SUSA.

Dani and her husband, Adam, have three children.  If she's away from the pool, she is probably traveling with family.  She has visited over 50 countries on 6 continents.  In addition to coaching year-round for SUSA, she was the head coach for 11 years of DHHS, PVHS and Hurricane HS.  While she coached high school, her girls won a 4A State title and she was a 5-Time Coach of the Year recipient.

Her greatest reward comes when she can help your swimmers achieve their highest potential.  Dani has coached swimmers to  the national level, State Championships and has helped swimm ers  realize their college dreams.  She loves seeing the look on their faces when they accomplish something they didn't think was possible.

Shawn King

Lead Coach (SAC), Nat-D, S2


Returning to sourthern Utah in 2016, Shawn has been instrumental in creating a culture of excellence at SUSA.  Coach Shawn began his coaching career over 10 years ago, with experience coaching in Texas, Idaho, Utah, Illinois, and Florida.  Shawn has coached all levels of kids from developmental to the national level of USA Swimming. Mostly importantly, Coach Shawn cares about his athletes as people and drives them to be successful and accountable in all areas of their lives.  During his time in southern Utah, Coach Shawn has coached national qualifiers, dozens of Utah club state champions, and individual and relay Utah Swimming state record holders. 

In addition, Coach Shawn is the head coach for Desert Hills, Pine View and Crimson Cliffs High Schools in St. George.  In five years he has won three 4A State titles and has been Coach of the Year three times.  Coach Shawn has been instrumental in developing the overall Men’s Utah high school state record holding 200 and 400 freestyle relays.  He has coached multiple statecChampions, state record holders, All-American swimmers and Division I and Division II collegiate athletes.

Coach Shawn graduated from DSU with a degree in Psychology.  His favorite part of coaching is going through the process of setting goals with his swimmers and aiding them in achieving those goals.

Charlie Barnett

Lead Coach (SHAC), SafeSport & Service


Coach Charlie comes from St. George.  He and his wife, Rachel, have two sons.  Charlie has been swimming for 16 years and has coached high school for four years.  For the past two years he has been the head coach for Snow Canyon HS.  

In his third year coaching with SUSA, Charlie has been a vital part of both our Senior AND Age Group teams.  His knowledge, enthusiasm for both learning and coaching and genuine love for his swimmers has been a strength to our team.  His favorite part of coaching is watching the swimmers get to competitions and be their best.

Coach Charlie is a senior at DSU and is majoring in Biology.  His favorite food is Greek gyros and he enjoys playing basketball, fishing and cross-stitching in the little free time he has.

Danica Marie Butler

Age Group coach


Coach Danica is from Spanish Fork, Utah but is currently studying in the Nursing program at DSU.  She has been involved with swimming for more than 10 years, and currently swims for Dixie State Women's Swim Team.  She holds 5 SFHS school records as well as two school records at Dixie State! 

Prior to coaching for SUSA, Danica coached with HAST Swim Team in American Fork.  She has been with SUSA for the past year coaching our age-group swimmers how to do proper technique and how to race.  

Coach Danica enjoys hunting, fishing, dirt biking, boating and Jalepeno Cheetos!

Lexie A Dunn (Taylor)

Age Group coach


Coach Lexie comes to SUSA as an experienced athlete, competing for 3 years for Dixie State University Women’s Swimming Team.  She is passionate about working with kids and using her experience to help them improve and progress.  Her desire to help athletes continues in her education at DSU, where she is pursuing a degree in exercise science and foundational work for physical therapy.

Lexie grew up in Queen Creek, Arizona, is the oldest (and parental favorite) of 5 children and loves boneless cooked chicken in any form.

Millie Miggin

Age Group coach


Coach Millie has been swimming since she was 12 years old.  She was raised in Logan, Utah, and is the 4th of 6 kids.  Millie swam club for Logan Gators/Cache Valley Marlins, and coached for them for a year before moving to St. George.  She also swam four years of high school.  Two of those years she was part of the State Championship team.  Millie is studying in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at DSU.

Faith H Purdy

Age Group coach


Coach Faith is orginally from Ogden, Utah where she swam for Ben Lomond HS for 5 years.  Her desire to coach came when she was able to peer coach her high school team.  She is driven by swimmers improve and loves to help them achieve their goals.  Before coming to SUSA, Faith taught swim lessons for two years and has a passion for teaching proper technique.  She is looking forward to coaching your kids!  

Coach Faith currently attends DSU and is majoring in art.  In her spare timeshe sculpts, hikes and can eat sushi -- anytime, anywhere!

Lainey Bingham

Age Group coach


Coach Lainey hails from Logan, Utah.  She is the oldest of 4 -- she has two sisters and a brother.  She is studying in the Nursing program at DSU.  She is excited to get to know your swimmers and help them learn as much as possible. Her favorite stroke to coach is Breaststroke.

Lainey swam for 9 years with Cache Valley Marlins, along with swimming for SkyView High School.  Prior to coming to St. George, Lainey was an assistant coach for Green Canyon HS.  She has held four high school records.

Coach Lainey loves mac'n'cheese, chocolate milk and Mountain Dew.  She enjoys doing everything outdoors -- hiking, cliffjumping, wakeboarding and traveling especially.  She brings enthusiasm and a love of life with her to our program.
