Christine Haslem

Pre-Senior Coach

Email

Coach Christine started swimming at age 6 officially but her mom swears she was swimming in the home pool before she could walk. Christine swam competitively from 9-20. During that time she qualified for jr. nationals at 12 and competed in the US Open in 2000. She and her relay finished 3rd. Her best strokes were butterfly and distance freestyle. Christine competed for University of Alabama and finished 9th in the SEC her freshman year. Although a shoulder injury ended her college career, she now enjoys open water swimming, running races from 5Ks-26.2s and triathlons. She looks to qualify again for the National Age Group Championships in triathlons and compete in her first half ironman in 2018.

This is her second year coaching with the Amberjax and the head coach of Veteran's Park summer swim team. Prior coaching experience includes high school cross country, Girls on the Run, and currently coaches adult runners too. She believes in empowering others by motivating them to work smart, play hard and have fun!

Jonathan Parker

Adv. Pre-Senior Coach

Email

Coach Jonathan has been swimming since he was 11.  He swam on the Lakeridge Lancers for 8 years, 1 year on OCCS, and then swam one year on the Wingate University Varsity team.  He then transferred to James Madison University where he was a member of the club swim team for 4 years.  He graduated JMU with a degree in Sports and Recreation Management and a minor in Business.  Coach Jonathan is currently working on his masters degree from Concordia University Chicago in Sports Leadership.

Coach Jonathan has been coaching with the Lakeridge Lancers for 7 years.  He recently certified as a Level 2 Master's Coach and coaches and swims over at the Sport and Health for the Tsunami Masters.  He is also going to compete for the Tsunami Masters this season.  So he is always looking for ways to improve his own swims and learn new ways/drills to coach the swimmers.  He has also become the new assistant swim coach at Forest Park High School.

Coach Jonathan is beyond excited for this opportunity to work with the Amberjax and can't wait to work with the swimmers!

Holly Livingston

Junior 1 Coach

Email

Holly began swimming competitively at the age of 4 and joined Amberjax at 5 years old. She swam summer league for 14 years, year-round for 9 years, and high school for 3 years until a shoulder injury forced her to decrease the amount and intensity of her training. Holly has been coaching for her summer swim team since 2013. You can also see her at the PWCS Aquatics Center as an Instructor and Head Lifeguard. She attended Northern Virginia Community College for two years and is transferring to George Mason University in the Spring of 2018 to become an elementary school teacher. Although a shoulder injury limited her ability to swim, Holly has always loved the sport of swimming and discovered that coaching is the most rewarding way to stay involved with the sport that shaped so much of her life. She is extremely excited to return to Amberjax as a coach!
