Nick W Weiss
I have always loved the water. I joined the Spartan Sharks when I
was seven years old and continued my swimming career at McFarland
High School and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. I have held
various MSS and high school team records, as well as qualifying for
Junior Nationals in 1999.
For 13 years, I coached McFarland High School Spartan swim teams,
leading the HS Boys to six consecutive state titles and one state
runner-up in 13 seasons, and two HS Girls state runners-up in six
seasons. I have had the pleasure of coaching numerous state
champions, record holders, and All Americans. One of my greatest
honors was being named WISCA Boys Coach of the Year five times
(2008-2012), and WISCA Girls Coach of the Year (2016).
I have worked with the Spartan Sharks since 2005, training swimmers
of all levels, including numerous state, zone, Junior National, and
Olympic Trial qualifiers.
My favorite part of coaching is developing lasting relationships
with swimmers and celebrating their successes, whether
participating in their first meet or qualifying for national-level
competitions, and everything in between.

I grew up swimming with the McFarland Spartan Sharks and the high school team. I graduated from MHS in 2001 and went to college in Stevens Point. I have been coaching in McFarland for 10 years and have worked with every age group with the Sharks.
I love watching swimmers have fun, build confidence, and improve throughout their seasons and swimming careers. Some highlights throughout my coaching career include being chosen as a 2015 Wisconsin Zone Coach, working with multiple state champions (club and high school), and winning Wisconsin State Championships at the club and high school level.
Outside of the pool, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, playing music, and anything that has to do with Star Wars!

comfortable in the
confident in their

connectivity, balance and explosiveness.

I bring many years of swimming experience to the Sharks team as I swam on several club teams from early childhood and continued to swim as on my high school team. For the past few years I have been swimming on the McFarland Master’s team with Stu Schaefer and Sara Landolt as well. Swimming has been an important part of my life and I have really enjoyed watching my own children learn to love swimming as well. As a coach to the minis and kickers I’m looking forward to helping our young athletes develop their swimming skills, grow in their confidence, how to have fun, and be great teammates!
I’m very excited and proud to be a member of the Sharks coaching team!
