Michael Cobarrubias

Head Coach High School Coach, San Jose


Coach Cobo started coaching at West Coast water polo club in the summer of 2018. He started competitively swimming and playing waterpolo at the age of 10. He played on the PNW zone team since the age of 14, played in the medal rounds at JO’s, was a USA Waterpolo All American, grew up in the cadet and youth USA national systems and secured scholarships to D1 schools. He has coached at the highschool, club, and junior collegiate levels. Coach Cobo has been a referee at national tournaments at all levels of play which is a testament of his round knowledge of the game. Professionally he is the Aquatics Director at the Palo Alto YMCA and is the new head waterpolo coach at Independence High School. His goals are to make each and every player better, develop division 1 athletes, and to position West Coast Waterpolo Club as Bay Area waterpolo powerhouse. 

Eman Ghoreyshi

Director and Head Age Group Coach


Coach Eman began his coaching career at West Coast in the Winter of 2015. A bay area native, he played for both Pioneer High School and the SV Outlaws. He has played in both CCS championships and Junior Olympics. He continues to play with the West Coast Masters. Coach Eman has coached as an assistant Volunteer Coach for both the SV Outlaws and the Pioneer High School Girls team before starting at West Coast as the head 10u & 12u Coach. He has taken his 10u teams as far as the championship bracket at Junior Olympics. He has also coached for Evergreen Valley High School Boys Varsity and is currently the Milpitas High School Girls Varsity Head Coach. Working his way up as the Director of the West Coast Water Polo Club he took his club that started at 4 athletes to over 50 and growing. Coach Eman is a USA Water Polo Certified Official and is currently at San Jose State University working on his Business Administration Degree in Accounting. His goal is to take every player that comes into West and turn them into a high-quality player.
