Matt has been the head coach for the Wooster Whales YMCA Team since the fall of 2013. Matt coaches the advanced (Gold) group as well as the intermediate (Silver) group in the winter season. Matt has also been coaching as an assistant for the Wooster Whales summer club since 2014. Durning the summer season, Matt coaches the novice/intermediate group. Matt was also hired as an assistant for the Wooster High School Swim Team in the fall of 2016. This allows Matt to be involved in Wooster Swimming year around and at every level of the program from novice to the high school.
Matt swam competitively for the Wooster Whales year around as an age group swimmer and went on to swim for Wooster High School where he was a four-year varsity letterman and a state qualifier his senior year. Matt then went on to swim collegiately for two years at Westminster College (PA).
Matt also serves as the Aquatics Director for the Wooster YMCA.
Rob currently serves as the Head Coach for the Wooster Whales Summer Rec Club. Rob has been coaching with the Wooster Whales summer program since the start of the 2003 season. Rob oversees all aspects of the club including serving as President of the MOSL Swim League and serving as Meet Director of the annual Freedlander Meet. His coaching duties in the summer include coach the advanced early morning group as well as the novice/beginner group.
Rob is originally from Washington, D.C. area and a graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School near Bethesda, Md. As a club swimmer, Rob swam with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club year round and Rock Creek Swim Team in the summer. As a college student-athlete (1995-99), Rob earned four varsity letters with The College of Wooster as a specialist in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley. Currently, he is the head coach of The College of Wooster swim team since the fall of 2003 and is also the Director of Aquatice for the college.
Chris has been an assistant for the Wooster Whales summer club for 15 years. She coaches our intermediate/advanced group for the summer club.
Chris has also served as the Head Coach for the Wooster High School Swim Team since 1997 and just celebrated her 20th year as WHS Head Coach.
Chris grew up in the Pittsburgh area and swam collegiately at Westminster College (PA) where she still holds the record in the 1650 Freestyle.
