SWIFT Swimming Emergency
Procedures
An emergency
means that all swimmers and coaches need to evacuate the pool/area
due to a dangerous or life-threatening situation. Parents and Swim
America Coaches are expected to assist and cooperate with the Site
Supervisor/Manager/Coach on
duty.
1. Give three
short blasts of the whistle once informed of emergency conditions
like inclement weather (lightning), contamination of pool or pool
area, or injury.
2. Coaches are to exit pool to
the nearest edge with their group and maintain
student control until relieved by parent or guardian of
student.
3. Call for assistance (911), if
necessary.
4. Give first aid if
necessary.
5.Notify parents/guardians if
necessary.
Swim America Class Make-up
Policy
Make-up classes will
ONLY
be offered to students when a class is cancelled by
the Site
Supervisor, this does not include acts of GOD(like weather) which
are beyond our control.
