A sit down with a Sports Dietitian for parents and swimmer only.
It is our pleasure to introduce you to Melinda Edmonds, Sports Dietitian and Director & Chief Nutrition Coach of Thrive Nutrition. COBRA Swim Club is excited to provide several seminar series to several of our competitive groups this season.
To give you some of Melinda’s background, she has been certified in Sports Nutrition since 2012, and sports nutrition consulting for over 10 years. She has been a practicing Sports Dietitian since 2005. She is an endurance athlete for many years, and specifically started working with swimmers (Blue Fins) about 4 years ago looking to improve their performance. Melinda has over 13 years' experience in a hospital setting and has been working in private practice since 2012. Her areas of expertise include weight management, hormone disorders, mental health, disordered eating, women's health, brain injury and spinal cord injury, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol), digestive disorders and sports nutrition.
When she isn't in the kitchen, chances are you will find her in
the gym coaching, doing CrossFit, or outside running, hiking,
skiing, wakeboarding or playing with her kids.

- CrossFit Level 2 Trainer with certifications in CrossFit Kids, Gymnastics and Weightlifting
Melinda will be focused on key topics for COBRA student/athletes such as sports nutrition basics, pre/post/recovery nutrition, supplements and hydration, as well as tapering/race day nutrition.
