DIA DI HIMNO Y BANDERA Open Water

Description

 The Aruban Swimming Federation AZB extends a cordial invitation to you to participate in the new yearly Himno y Bandera Open Water Swim.

Meet to be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Rodger’s Beach in Seroe Colorado, San Nicolas, Aruba (venue pending confirmation).

This year we will be swimming 3 distances, 1–3–5 KM.

The age for all competitors will be considered as at December 31, 2019.

The 3KM will be a CCCAN qualifying event for males and females in the age group 12 – 13 years.

The 5KM will be a CCCAN qualifying event for males and females in the age group 14 – 17 and 18 years and older.

For the 1KM event the following categories will participate for prizes: 8 – 11 years Female-Male 12 – 13 years “ “ 14 and older “ “

For the 3KM event the following categories will participate for prizes: 12 – 13 years Female-Male 14 – 17 years “ “ 18 and older “ “

For the 5KM event the following categories will participate for prizes: 14 – 15 years Female-Male 16 – 17 years “ “ 18 and older “ “

The first swimmers in each category will be awarded trophies. The 2nd and 3rd place in each category will be awarded medals.

The competition

The competition will be conducted in accordance with FINA Rules 2017–2020.

Entry will close on March 20, 2019 at 10.00 pm.

On race day NO entries will be accepted.

Local Aruban Swimming Federation AZB member swim teams can enter their swimmers via Hy-Tek.

he entry fee for all participants is AWG 25.00.

Athletes under 18 will participate only if their designated representatives (parents/custodians/coaches) are present at the open water event.

A representative must sign and include with the entry, a document indemnifying the organizers from all liability.

All Competitors shall be subject to a compulsory medical examination at the event venue before the start of the event.

Information in this will be provided at the Technical Meeting.

Payment and numbering: 

Payment, submission of signed waiver and numbering will start on race day at 7.00 am.

We remind all participants of the requirement for every swimmer to sign the “Waiver and release of liability” form.

Swimmers under the age of 18 must have this form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Race venue

The start and the finish for the 1, 3 and 5KM race will be at the Rodger’s Beach in Seroe Colorado, San Nicolas The course will be marked by buoys indicating the start and turning points and will have a rectangular shape.

The course will have a distance of 1KM. Swimmers for the 3 and 5KM will have to the swim the course 3 or 5 times.

The start time for all the distances will be at 9.00AM, with 5KM, and 3KM and 1KM with 5 minutes in between.

Exploration course  @ 8:00AM Special notice for the 3KM and 5KM participants. For the 3KM and 5KM event, a time limit of 15 minutes shall apply from the finish time of the first swimmer in each category.

Competitors who do not finish the course within the time limit shall be removed from the water except if the Referee may allow a competitor outside the time limit to complete the course but not be eligible for any prizes.

CCCAN QUALIFYING EVENT 3KM & 5KM

The first two (Number 1 and 2) Competitors in the following age groups who are also within the time limits listed in the below table will be eligible to compete at the CCCAN Open water event July 3 – 5, 2019 in Barbados.

12 – 13 years 3KM Female & Male

14 – 17 years 5KM Female & Male

18 years 5KM Female & Male

Aruba Swimming Federation officials will record the results.

Awards ceremony for all 3 races will be at 11.00AM.

PROTESTS All protests against the Referees decision must be submitted to the Referee in writing within 30 minutes after the event in question. It should be signed by the Representative and accompanied by AWG 25.00. The fee is refundable if the protest is upheld.
