Health Seminar for Female Swimmers
(this is a team hosted event)
"Managing Your Period as an Athlete Swimmer"
In partnership with the Virginia Women's Center, we will be hosting a focused health seminar for our female swimmers.
Topics will include:
Managing periods and the symptoms that may occur.
What is "normal"?
Using appropriate products (tampons, etc)
Coping with heavy/painful/irregular cycles.
When to see a doctor.
All these issues will be covered with the goal of not letting your cycle disrupt not only swim practices and meets, but also life beyond the pool. Questions will be welcomed! All female swimmers and their parents are welcome whether they haven't started their period yet, just started, or want to know more about managing periods.
There will be four different attendance options:
Wednesday, February 13th: 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM. Female swimmers and any parent at either time.
Thursday, February 14th: 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM. Mothers and daughters (girls only!) at either time.
Log in to the NOVA website and sign up for ONE of the days/times under the "Health Seminar for Female Swimmers" which is listed under "Meets & Events Schedule".
Please do register online so we have an attendance count.
