Youth Challenge Cup

May 24th - 26th 2019

Details, qualifications and approximate travel costs are below. Please note that by registering for this meet you are committing to incurring the cost of travel regardless if you decide not to attend later. (Special considerations or illness will be discussed on a case by case basis). DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS FEBRUARY 28th 2019.

We are looking for a number of swimmers interested in travelling with us to Salinas, California for an outdoor long course meet at the end of May. Max number of swimmers is 18 and minimum number is 6. We will also be looking for 1-2 chaperones depending on the number of swimmers that sign up. This number may change if we have more interest. The sooner you sign up, the more chance that the price will be lower. We may look at going down on Thursday night and if some are not able to do that, then another group on Friday morning meeting up and then heading down to Monterrey.

Swimmers must:

Be 11 years of age or older, Elite 2 Junior Group and up
Have one of the highlighted qualifying time standards for your age group (attached below)
Have a valid passport that expires AFTER NOVEMBER 27th 2019.

 

*** Please take a look at last seasons results so you are able to see if you can make the finals.  We have taken a team down here before and won the small team trophy.  We also still hold a few meet records.  It is fun, outdoors and gives swimmers a chance to experience travel, different scenarios and others to race against.  Sometimes getting ready for outdoor Age Group Nationals such as in Montreal at times.  Cut and paste link below.

We will be flying out either Thursday evening (May 23rd) or Friday morning (May 24th).
Returning Monday May 27th in the morning. Flights to be confirmed once we have numbers.

We will be renting vans and driving from the airport to the meet with possible tourist attractions on the way, time permitting.

The meet runs Friday afternoon through Sunday evening.

Approximate cost for this trip is $1000- $1200/per athlete + meet fees. Meet package will be posted once available. Food costs will be extra.
