Plan on a 40-50 minute drive to the Gettysburg YWCA

On Deck - 7:45 AM
Warm Ups – 8:00 

Bring water bottles and drink plenty of water before, during & after the meet.  Stay hydrated!

Bring extra towels, blankets, sun screen and folding chairs. 

Meet Notes:

MSC will be seated at the shallow end of the pool, on the hallway side, as well as in the back half of the community room for overflow.  This has worked well for us in the past. As you well know, we have limited spectator space, so we ask all parents flow in and out as their children swim.

The gym, aerobics room, racquetball courts, and fitness areas are for YWCA members only.  Please pass on to your families that they are to stay in our areas (community room, main hallway, pool deck, and locker rooms). 

Eat healthy snacks the morning of the meet.

Eat a high carb dinner on Friday night:

The average pre-race meal should consist of at least 80 percent carbohydrates. Foods high in carbohydrates include:

  • Meal replacement shakes
  • Low-sugar whole grain cereals
  • Oatmeal with low-fat milk
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Sweet potatoes
  • High-carb energy bars
  • Whole wheat pancakes
  • Real fruit smoothies with low-fat yogurt
  • Wild rice
  • Bananas
  • Natural fruit juices
  • Peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread
  • Hummus (chickpeas)
  • Multi-grain bagel with peanut butter
  • Low-fat yogurt with granola and fruit
