WHAT: Our annual "away" meet, hosted by the South Lake Tahoe Swim Club. We technically compete in the meet each day, but if you ask anyone who's been before, the real reason to go to Tahoe is to play at the lake and hang out with your friends from the team. If you've traveled on this trip with us before, you know what an awesome, fun time it is. And if you haven't ever gone, you're in for a really great weekend! And it is open to ALL PRE-SENIOR OR BELOW year-round swimmers on our team, regardless of age, ability, or previous meet experience.
WHEN: Thursday, July 11 through Sunday, July 14.
COST: The cost of the trip is $250. This price includes bus transportation to and from Tahoe, condominium accommodations at Lakeland Village Resort in South Lake Tahoe, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, a pizza party on Friday night, a beach barbecue dinner on Saturday night, and use of all of the Lakeland facilities - private beach, swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table, etc. The team will also provide snacks and drinks for the condos.
Swimmers must provide their own money for lunches each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and for dinner on the way home on Sunday evening.
Family and friends who plan to attend the meet are very welcome to join us for our evening team events. The Friday pizza party will be compliments of the team, but we do ask you to RSVP so that we can get an accurate head count and order enough food. The cost for the Saturday BBQ is $18/person for ages 11 and older, and $10/person for ages 5-10. Children under 5 are free. Please be sure to add both of these to your swimmer's registration if you would like to join us.
Please remember too that the team does not provide accommodations for family members of swimmers, with the exception of official chaperones. Non-chaperone family members and friends who wish to attend the meet are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
FOR SWIMMERS STAYING ON THEIR OWN: If you will attend the meet but stay on your own, you must still sign up through our website. The coaches will register all swimmers for the meet whether or not you stay with the team, so we need you to pay your meet fees through our website. When given the option of how to register, just select "Tahoe - staying on own". Please also remember to sign up and pay for the barbecue at the same time, if you will be able to join us for that.
REGISTRATION: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until all fifty-five (55) available spots are filled, and the registration deadline is May 14. After all spots are filled, we will start a waiting list if needed. In the event that a waiting list is created, we will add additional participants if (and only if) we are able to secure additional condos and transportation at a reasonable cost. We cannot guarantee that this will be possible, so we strongly encourage you to sign up early if you really want to attend.
All participants will also be required to fill out and sign the documents included in the Team Travel Policy prior to departure. If signed forms are not received by the morning of departure, the swimmer will not be able to participate in the trip.
PAYMENT: Payment is due at the time of registration and needs to be made by credit card.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS: The deadline for cancelling full trip registrations is May 11. If you cancel on or before this date, all fees will be refunded, minus a $20 processing fee.
No refunds will be available after May 11. All swimmers who are registered as of May 11 will be responsible for paying the full cost of the trip, whether or not they attend.
For swimmers staying on their own, the meet fee payment is non-refundable as soon as we sign you up for the meet. (Pacific Swimning won't refund our payment for the meet, so we can't refund yours). We cannot guarantee when the meet will open for sign ups, but it will likely be on or around June 1.
CHAPERONES: If you are interested in chaperoning this trip, please review our Team Travel Policy and Tahoe Chaperone Information sheet for details on what the job will entail. If you are willing and able to volunteer after you have reviewed that information, please email Sarah to confirm which group(s) you would be interested in helping with.
