2019 Cam Evans Meet Invite

Description

This is a YMCA meet that has been USA sanctioned, so all times will appear in the SWIMS database.  All THY swimmers are eligible to swim this meet.

Entry fees are $6 per event, the 200 IM is 10$.  Swimmers can swim a maximum of 3 individual events per day. THIS IS A PRELIMS FINALS MEET.

Deck entries will be permitted at the discretion of the meet director, but you must have cash on hand to enter.  They will not add new heats, but will add swimmers to empty lanes.

There is no admission for spectator, but heat sheets will be sold for $3 per day.  Heat sheets will be sold after all scratches are in and heats are seeded properly.  The first event will be posted, if necessary. They will also attempt to use Meet Mobile.

*Session 2 events are limited to the top 16 girls and the top 16 boys in each event.

**Session 5 events are limited to the top 24 boys and the top 24 girls in each event.

Positive check-in will be used for Session 2 and Session 5 events.

Please plan on arriving AT LEAST 30 minutes BEFORE the scheduled warm-up time.  GCIT can be crowded, so we need to secure adequate space for our team on deck. 

 

What to Bring To The Meet

A couple of things to keep in mind when packing a bag for meets. The kids should have the following:

  • EXTRA Suits/Caps/Goggles/Towel (Swim Essentials)
  • Healthy snacks to eat after warm up and races (fruits, protein/carb bar)
  • Fluids with Electrolytes (Smartwater, Gatorade, PowerAde).  It can get very warm on deck at GCIT! Be sure your swimmers are adequately hydrated!
  • Warm clothes (sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks and shoes to keep their feet warm)
  • Deck chair.  (Sometimes GCIT allows it and sometimes they don't.  It's better to be prepared!)
