MOCK MEET TIME!
Tuesday, June 4, 2019
This is a mock meet so all the kids and parent can practice running through the meet setup, events, heat sheets, scoring, announcing, starter, timing, clerk of course, and take down.
Concessions will not be part of this meet practice, but all other jobs will be. We will be stopping between strokes (and maybe a little more often) so parents can rotate through volunteer positions and learn how each job is done.
After the mock meet is completed and cleaned up, let's all meet up at Aversboro Resturant for fun and hanging out! Parents can also contact Michelle at Aversboro (I'll have a notebook for notes we can all brainstorm and share to make imporvements!) about what didn't go smoothly and ideas to help make our first real meet next week the best yet!
From 7-8 We will also be having our team suit fittings with All American Swim. You can see the details on that event I created; I think everyone will be happy with the new suit prices! I was hoping I could get our photo's scheduled the same afternoon, but our photo guy has retired! I am currently looking to find a new sports photo group, so contact me if you know anyone! I will do my best to get team photos done while parents set up for the mock meet, so we can kill three birds with one stone and get the mock meet, photos and suit fittings DONE while everyone is gathered!
If you are running late or will not be there by 6:30pm please contact your swim coach or a board member (Michelle's number is 919-637-8621) so that the appropriate meet changes can be made.
Please sign up for this meet by the deadline so heatsheets can be created and printed with enough time. We want to have accurate heatsheets ready for our parent training groups as we rotate through jobs, so please register your swimmer! It will be far easier to train a new parent on how to do a job if the kids being told want to do are on the sheets the parents are training from. Thank you, everyone! I couldn't do this without all of y'all helping so much, and I am forever grateful! Go Dolphins!
