 2019 JAWS Sun and Fun ABC Spectacular and IMX Challenge  June 15- 17, 2019

Sign up due May 16 @ 8:00p. This meet is on the same weekend as the OLY Summer Classic at Oakland University. Please do not sign up for this meet if you are attending the OLY meet.  

Description: This is a Long Course (50 meter) meet. This meet is a good opportunity to get into Summer Long Course swimming with a bonus of an IMX challenge. Your swimmer must be a MI Swimming/USA Swimming member to participate in this meet. (If you are a Junior Riptide swimmer and are interested in competing at USA Swimming sanctioned meets, please contact your group coach for more information). 

LOCATION: Jenison Aquatic Center, Jenison High School  2140 Bauer Rd, Jenison, MI 49428

MEET FORMAT: The meet will be deck seeded and timed final. Swimmers may select any event(s) in which they would like to swim, however this meet also features an IMX challenge. To be eligible for IMX rankings (see below), swimmers should sign up for the following events:  

IMX Events by Age Group - please see meet packet for all details

10 & Under: 200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly, 200 IM.
11 & 12: 400 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly, 200 IM.
13 - 18: 400 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM.

The IMX meet format allows USA Swimming members to track their times (or coaches to track their team's times) against swimmers from across the nation! Just by swimming a specific program of events (above), you can see where you rank against your teammates, your region and yes, even across the USA!

SCHEDULE

Friday, June 14: Afternoon  Session 1 (13 & Over)

Warm up 12:30 pm     Events: 1:30 pm

Friday, June 14: Evening  Session 2 (All Ages)

Warm up to begin 15 minutes after the completion of the afternoon session, but not before 4:30 pm. Events start 45 minutes after warm-up begins but not before 5:00 pm.

All participants in the 13 & Over 800m and 1500m free are asked to provide one timer and a counter if   possible.

Saturday, June 15: Morning  Session 3 (12 & Under)

Warm Up 7:30 am    Events: 8:30 am

Saturday, June 15: Afternoon Session 4 (13 & Over)

Warm Up to begin 15 minutes after the completion of the morning session, but not before 11:30 am. Events start 60 minutes after warm up begins but no earlier than 12:30pm..

Sunday, June 16: Morning  Session 5 (12 & Under)

Warm Up 7:30 am     Events: 8:30 am

Sign up for events/days of your choice.  If you ask for the coaches to pick - be sure to specify days/sessions in the comment/note section when committing. Swimmers may enter a maximums of four (4) individual events per session and no more than six (6) events per day. No relays are offered at meet.

Awards: 13 & Over events: No awards will be given for A, B, & C categories.  However, IMX trophies will be awarded (see IMX award information below).

12 & under events: Awards for 12 & Under will be split into 11/12 and 10 & Under categories.  Medals will be given for 1st-3rd in all A, B, & C categories for each event (for both 11/12 and 10 & Under).

"No times" (NT) will be exhibition swims and will not be eligible for individual awards in any events due to the nature of an A, B, C meet with time standards. 

Coaches MUST claim awards at the end of the meet, they will NOT be mailed.  Do not contact JAWS or the Jenison HS Aquatics Center to send them to you.  

IMPORTANT IMX AWARD INFORMATION: All swimmers who are pre-entered into the meet (not deck entered) and swim (legally) all of the IMX combination of events for their age group at the Sun and Fun meet will receive an IMX trophy. A variety of trophies will be available for the athlete to choose from after they have successfully completed the IMX Challenge!

 "No times" (NT) will be allowed to complete the IMX Challenge to earn a trophy. 

Swimmers with Disabilities: All swimmers are encouraged to participate. If any of your swimmers have special needs or requests, please indicate them on the entry form and with the Clerk of Course and/or the Meet Referee during warm ups.
