This meeting is open to current Katy Aquatics Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors along with their parents.  

The purpose of this meeting is to provide our members with a foundation on how to begin the college search process.  We will discuss when, where, and how to start connecting and promoting your swimmer to college coaches.  We will go over the differences between the various competitive collegiate levels, what coaches are looking for, and the time frames to keep in mind when submitting applications. 

The meeting should last 45-60 minutes and registration is required.
Note: Only Swimmers need to be registered; parents are welcome to stay for the presentation as well.

Associate Head Coach Roric Fink.

Roric Fink recently completed his sixth season with The University of Texas women's swimming and diving program. He served his first five seasons as assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach in advance of the 2017-18 season. Fink came to Texas from the University of Missouri where he served for two seasons as associate head coach.

Fink has coached collegiately since 2003, spending eight seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Arizona from 2003-10. He also built up one of the nation's top aquatics clubs -- Ford Aquatics in Tucson, Ariz. -- starting in 2000. Prior to that he worked with the Phoenix Swim Club from 1995-2000, while assisting with the U.S. National Team. He worked with athletes such as Jeff Rouse and Gary Hall, Jr., who represented Team USA in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta as well as Klete Keller in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

During his time as a coach he has coached and developed NCAA Championship level athletes. He coached Arizona National Champions Lacey Nymeyer, Dave Rollins, Tyler DeBerry and Marcus Titus with the Ford Aquatics program before going on to compete for the Wildcats. His club won the USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine, Calif., and the Men's Team Championship at the Western Zone Sectional in Portland, Ore., back in 2011.

Fink also brings international coaching experience to Texas. He coached Amanda Beard as she qualified for the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships and the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai, China. He has served on the USA Swimming coaching staff for the 2008 National Junior Team and the 2010 NSCA All-Star Team. In 2006, Fink represented Mexico as a member of their coaching staff at the Short Course World Championships.

He is a 1986 graduate of Whitworth College. He earned his master's degree in business administration in 2000.
