July 31: All Stars Meet
All Stars is for swimmers who have the fastest times in the Colonial Swim League. The swimmers who placed in the top 18 in the CSL are invited to swim at the All Star meet. Swimmers who place 19-21 are known as "alternates" and are invited to the meet in case someone in the top 18 scratches. Alternates will need to be ready on the pool deck at All Stars. We also have honorable mentions (places 22-27, who do not figure to be invited to the All Star meet, but they could move up in the event of scratches.
After Divisionals are over, we'll know the top times for our swimmers and if anyone made it into All Stars, either as a top 18, an alternate (19-21) or as an Honorable Mention (22-27). Once we know who made it onto the All Stars list, we will contact you! We will need to know during our conversation about your swimmers' availability status for the All Star meet by Sunday, July 25th at 3pm. There will be an All Star Colonial Swim League-wide scratch meeting that the Team Reps attend on Monday evening (July 26) where the final list will be determined.
Practice for All Star swimmers will be held from 11:00am-12:00am Monday through Friday, from July 26-30th (we will be using three lanes during regular pool time). On Monday, all of the All Star swimmers (top 18, alternates, and honorable mentions) can attend the first practice. After the scratch meeting Monday night, your Team Reps will contact parents if any alternates moved up to honorable mentions. For the remainder of the week, the top picks and anyone who moved up to alternate status can attend Blue Fins AS practices.
All Stars is held the morning of July 31st at Ashburn Village.
When we know what our volunteer responsibilities are, we'll send out an email to All Star Parents.
