Mandatory USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy Consent
USA Swimming has mandated a June 23 deadline for clubs to implement the new USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP - see attachment). The Board of Directors of Reno Aquatic Club has adopted the new USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy as a policy of the Club. This requirement from USA Swimming includes updating all club policies to reflect MAAPP, and having the MAAPP "reviewed and agreed to in writing by all athletes, parents, coaches and other non-athlete members of member clubs on an annual basis with such written agreement to be retained by the club." The MAAPP includes significant new and enhanced policies in several areas of athlete safety.
See https://www.usaswimming.org/maapp for full details.
To be in compliance with this policy from USA Swimming and for the protection of minor athletes, all team families MUST acknowledge the MAAPP by June 23, 2019 for their swimmer to remain a member in good standing of Reno Aquatic Club and participate in activities of the Club including practice and swim meets by CLICKING THE COMMITMENT BUTTON FOR EACH SWIMMER IN THE FAMILY NEXT TO THIS EVENT ON THE HOMEPAGE..
By declaring the consent and acknowlegement of the MAAPP each family is consenting and acknowledging on behalf of the athletes, parents and non athlete members in each family that each athlete, parent and non athlete member of such family has reviewed the MAAPP, acknowledges and understands that agreeing to comply with the contents of the Policy is a condition of membership with Reno Aquatic Club and the declaration constitutes the written agreement of each such member of the family to the MAAPP.
