USA Swimming Safe Sport - MAAPP Acknowledgement

The US Center for SafeSport is the governing authority for all SafeSport policies (and enforcement) for all sports within the Olympic and Paralympic movements. USA Swimming, Wisconsin Swimming, and our own team are all governed by the US Center for SafeSport.

This year, The Center has implemented new policies and enhancements to continue our commitment to safeguard our athletes in USA Swimming. STAR is very supportive of all of these new policies (including the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP)). MAAPP covers 5 main areas including One-on-One Interaction, Social Media and Electronic Communication,Travel, Locker Rooms and Changing Areas, and Massages and Rubdowns.

One of the new procedures requires all members of STAR age 18 and older who have interaction with minor athletes, including adult athletes, parents, coaches, officials, and any other Applicable Adults, to confirm they will comply with MAAPP. Therefore, moving forward, all Applicable Adults will be required to follow MAAPP at all times.

Please see below to review the MAAPP policy.

Acknowledgement of your review of the policy is required in this "registration", which can be done here. First, click the "Continue or Check Status" bar below. Next, log in to your account, scroll to the bottom of the page, click "Continue", select your swimmer as you would normally do to register for a regular swim season, select "MAAPP Acknowledgment" under "Register to this group", select the checkbox indicating you have read and reviewed MAAPP, and click "Continue". Note, you will not be charged anything for this policy acknowledgment "registration" (you will see a summary of your acknowledgment with $0 payment). Finally, click "Submit Registration". Only one registration per family is required. Therefore, if you have multiple swimmers on the team, you only need to complete this acknowledgment for one swimmer.

Additional MAAPP information and documents can be found on the  MAAPP  site under the Safe Sport tab on STAR's website and on  USA's Swimming's Safe Sport  site.

Thank you for your participation in this matter!
