Hello All,

A few items to get out to everyone this evening. Please read through all the information and let me know if you have any questions. I will most likely send a last email out tomorrow with final updates and additional documents.

  1. Emails - All emails received as of this evening at 10:25pm have been replied to. If you have not received a reply, it means I have not received an email and please contact me asap. The Entry List and Psych Sheet have been updated to reflect all changes and are posted on the Championship Meets page of the Illinois Swimming web site.

  2. Time Trials - The below info is from our Meet Referee Ann Widdowson regarding time trials.

Based on the timelines, we will run Time Trials after all preliminary sessions including the Thursday Timed finals session. We will allow distance events (800 and 1500) after the Thursday session and on Friday only. We may add a Time Trial athletes to the last heat on Thursday depending on open lanes. Please review the meet packet for complete Time Trail information. This will be discussed at the coaches meetings on Thursday and Friday.
  3. From our Athlete Representatives - On Saturday prior to the beginning of finals, we will be recognizing all our college bound athletes. There will be a form for coaches to fill out available at the meet (I will try and get that out to you prior). These forms will be due by the end of the preliminary session on Saturday.

Email Update from Host Team (ACAD) (7/8/2019):

Welcome to the  2019 Illinois Swimming Senior Championships. This is the first of a few emails we will be sending out to all of you in the next few days. We are excited to host all of you and hope you are ready for a great weekend of swimming by some of the top athletes in the state of Illinois.

REMINDER  All of the information on the IL Swimming Championship meets is posted on the  Championship Meets page of the Illinois Swimming web site. I have attached an entry list by team, session timelines, and a full meet psych sheet to this email for you all to view. Please direct your families to the below link for all the current information on the  2019 IL Swimming Senior Championships -  https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=ilslsc&_stabid_=161229

We will have a full  welcome packet for all of you tomorrow, but wanted to be sure to point out a handful of quick reminders for everyone ahead of time:
  1. This meet will not be flighted.

  2. Late entries will be accepted and must be received by 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Late entries must follow the late entry policy per the Illinois Swimming Rules & Regulations.

  3. Positive check-in required for the 800 Freestyle, 1500 Freestyle, and all relay events. Positive check-in is due prior to the scratch deadline for that event. Entries not checked in or scratched by the appropriate deadline will automatically be down-seeded. Please scratch any event (individual or relay) that you do not plan to swim instead of just allowing the down-seed (not checking in) so we do not have empty lanes and allow all our athletes the best opportunity and environment to compete.

  4. Email scratches will be accepted until 1:00pm on Thursday, July 11,  2019. Scratches submitted via email must be sent to Todd Capen at t.capen@academybullets.com . It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that this email is received by the host club.

  5. Electronic Check-in for the 800 Free Relay  will be accepted until 1:00pm on Thursday, July 11,  2019 via  email must to Todd Capen at t.capen@academybullets.com . It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that this email is received by the host club.

  6. Scratches/Check-In for Day 1 individual event are due by 4:30pm on Day 1 of the meet.  All subsequent day’s events check-in or scratches are due 30 minutes after the start of the previous evening’s finals.

  7. There will be a coaches meeting in the Hospitality Room at 4:30pm on Thursday, March 1,  2018 and Friday, March 2,  2018 at 8:00am. Additional meetings, if necessary, will be held 20 minutes prior to the start of each prelim session. Each team or unattached swimmer must be represented.

  8. Finals will be conducted as they traditionally have in the LC season. All individual events except the 800 Free and 1500 Free will be conducted on a preliminaries and finals basis. Finals will be the Top 30 athletes competing in Bonus (10), Consolation (10) and Championship (10) Finals heats (C, B, A Finals). The Top 10 seeded and checked in relays will also compete in the finals session.

  9. Illinois Swimming will be recognizing all graduating seniors. Details are being finalized by the Athlete Representatives of Illinois Swimming and will be communicated tomorrow.

Be on the lookout for more information tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you all this weekend and please feel free to let Bill or I know if you have any questions.

This is a "COMMIT BY EVENT" Registration meet for HSC.  Swimmers must have a Senior State Qualifying time to compete at this meet, unless asked by the Coaching Staff to be on a relay.

Swimmers should discuss their "focus meet" with the Coaching Staff.  If a swimmer is NOT QUALIFIED or NOT GOING to Speedo Sectionals in Minneapolis the following weekend, then they should swim at Senior State.  Swimmers also trying to qualify additional times for Sectionals should consider a limited schedule at Senior State.

Many of the swimmers in Senior State have also been registered in the PAC Meet at Stevenson High School the same weekend.  The idea is that if a swimmer swims in the Prelims at Senior State and does not make a Final then they can drive 30 minutes down the road to go to the afternoon session at PAC and treat that as their final.  This gives kids chances at more events when fully prepared, suited, and rested.  The Coaching Staff has the FINAL say on the event entries for a particular swimmer - but will try to work with the swimmers desired events.

Please email the Coaching Staff if you have any questions.
