Email Updates from LWSA
Just a couple items of info for you.....
1. Reminder that the deadline for any added events that you
missed is 4:00pm today. I will post an updated event list and
psych sheet this evening on the website reflecting the additions
and scratches through your emails this afternoon. After that,
scratches will be made at the positive check in each session.
2. Our parking lot areas at Lincoln-Way Central are
undergoing repaving in the front of the building as well as on the
east side along Schoolhouse Road. Normally this would not be
that big of a deal because we have the pool parking on the north
side and the west lot is also open. However, Central had the
Dwayne Wade basketball clinic on Friday and Saturday in the
gym. This will cause some parking shortages with
the south and east lots being closed. Please don't
kill the messenger, but we were just informed of this yesterday
afternoon and there is not much that can be done. The school
has asked that families carpool as much as possible as well as use
the forest preserve parking lot on the east side of Schoolhouse
Road for an alternative. I don't anticipate as much of a
problem on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, but the Saturday
afternoon session may find parking tight.
Please inform your families!!!
3. The last item I have is the 100 degree anticipated heat
wave we are all so lucky to experience the next couple days.
Please know that we are taking all measures to lessen the effects
of the heat, but there is only so much we are going to be able to
do. The pool paks are running and the pool is comfortably
warm, but once we fill the stands and deck, we all know it may get
uncomfortable. I have already had 3 emails from families of
Bradley Bourbonnais demanding we have our air conditioning on in
the pool. The pool is air cooled, but not air conditioned as
we all know. When the temp outside is 20 degrees hotter than
the inside it will get warm. Please talk to your parents
and explain we will have fans, water on deck, etc. to try to offset
some of the heat that we are expecting. If Grandma and
Grandpa would not venture outside in the heat wave, then I would
not recommend that they think they will be able to handle a warm
pool balcony either. We are going to as always give you the
best run meet possible, but things like 100 degrees and the hottest
weather in 7 years are not totally in our control.
Attached is the warmup lanes for this weekend. Tonight
(Friday) is open lanes for everyone. Assigned lanes start on
If you have any other concerns, comments, or questions, please
let me know. otherwise, I look forward to seeing all of you
starting tomorrow afternoon.
Email Update from LWSA (7/16/2019):
Welcome to the start of
Regional championship week! We are looking
forward to hosting you in just a couple days.
Just some quick info to all of you.
Per ISI Championship rules, the last day for any additional entries
you may have missed is 4:00pm on Thursday. After that time
all changes are final. There is a $24 per event fee for all
individual events, and $48.00 per relay event. Those of you who
have already added new events, please make sure to bring your
payment on Friday night in cash or check made to
I have attached the meet entries, timeline, and psych sheet with
changes/additons/scratches through 10:00am today. All of the
info you need can also be accessed through the link on Illinois
regional meet web page to the
LWSA web site. Once on the
LWSA site click on the
regional picture in the screen center and it will take
you to the page which has been updated with the pre
scratch timeline, team entries, and psych sheet.
Any other info such as warmup lane assignments will be posted later
in the week.
Don't forget to get your scratches in to me as soon as
possible. Even though this is a positive check in meet, if
you have definite scratches, let's get them out of the way
Doors will open on Friday at 2:30pm. Saturday and Sunday
doors will open at 6:30am. Please pass this info on to your
parents so they know to not get there any earlier.
If you have any questions or concerns please email me.
a "COMMIT BY EVENT" Registration meet for HSC. Swimmers must
have a Regional Qualifying time to compete at this
Swimmers should discuss their "focus meet" with
the Coaching Staff. If a swimmer is NOT QUALIFIED or NOT
GOING to Speedo Sectionals in Minneapolis (for high school
swimmers) the same weekend, then they should go swim at
Regionals if qualified and eligible (Eligibility Report posted and
qualifying times in Meet Packet). Swimmers that are swimming
in Senior State or the PAC meet the previous weekend should still
swim in Regionals if available and eligible. Regionals will
be in short course yards and so it will be a good opportunity to
update yards times. The only swimmers that might now want to
swim a lot of events at Regionals are those that will have a heavy
schedule at Age Group State the next weekend. Swimmers should
strategize with their coaches about if they should swim Regionals,
and if so, what events.
email the Coaching Staff if you have any questions.
