YMCA Fall Kick Off Classic

Format: This will be a closed YMCA, timed finals meet. All swimmers must meet the required YMCA membership criteria outlined in the Rule that Govern YMCA Competitive swimming (black book). This meet will fulfill a YMCA meet requirement for the YMCA State Meet and times will be approved and submitted to the USA-S database.
Facility: The Fox Valley Family YMCA facility is an 8 lane 25 yard pool with depth of 9 feet at the starting end. The pool has starting blocks at the deep end and timing plungers at the shallow end for 25 yard events with seating capacity for 200 spectators. Colorado electric timing will be used with an eight lane display board. Bleacher seating for spectators will be available on the pool deck and viewing hallway. All Swimmers will be required to wait in the designated waiting areas. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with USA swimming rule 104.2.2C(4).
Admissions: No admissions will be charge for the Fall Classic, it is included in the meet fees.
Concessions: Concessions will be available every day of the meet. The concessions stand will be located in the Fox Valley Family YMCA gym hallway. No food is permitted on the pool deck.
Parking: Parking is allowed in designated areas only. Vehicles illegally parked in the parking lots or street areas are liable to be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
Positive check in: Scratches are to be turned in 25 minutes before the end of warm ups for each session at the scoring table. Coaches, please bring a written list of who will be scratched and what event numbers they will be scratched from
Timers: Timing assignments will be emailed and posted one day prior to the start of the meet. Timers meeting will be 30 minutes before the start of each session. Teams will be assigned lanes for timing based on number of swimmers in each session.
Seeding: Heat Sheets will be posted on deck and in hallways 5 minutes prior to the start of each session. Relays, 400 IM, 500 Free and 200s of Strokes may combine girls & boys to allow for a faster timeline.
Bullpen: Bullpen will be provided for 8 & under events, located on locker room side of the pool deck.
IMPORTANT – We will be using fly-over starts. Please instruct your swimmers prior to the meet to remain in the water at the completion of their events with the exception of the backstroke events. After the athletes touches the wall at the finish of a race and is waiting for the next heat to start, they should move to a corner of their lane prior to the "take your mark" command and remain still.
Scoring: This meet will be scored to 16 places (20, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1), relays are scored double. 6 & under and 7-8 age groups will be scored separately in all 8 & under events. 9-10 and 11-12 year old age groups will be scored separately in all morning 12 & under events. The 13-14 and 15 & over age groups will be scored separately in all open events. *The open 500 free will score 11-12 swimmers separately.

4th – 8th place ribbons. (12 & under age groups only)
Each heat winner in the 12 & under age groups will receive a heat winner award.
Entries: Friday session includes up to three (3) individual events and one (1) relay, with a maximum of four (4) events total. On Saturday and Sunday swimmers can be entered in up to four (4) individual events and up to two (2) relays each day, with a maximum of five (5) events total per session. Deck entries will be allowed till 45 minutes prior to the start of the session. Deck entries must be paid at time of entry and are subject to double entry fees. Please include the swimmers USA athlete ID if they are a registered with USA swimming. Saturday and Sunday 12 & under events are split into different sessions. Girls swim in the morning sessions and boys swim in the afternoon sessions.
