Officials Training: Level 1 - Timer & Safety Marshal
Oct 26, 2019 (09:30 AM) - Oct 26, 2019 (11:30 AM)
October, 26 2019
Dear Swim Families... In preparation for the upcoming swim meets that we host, we will again be offering training clinics this season, the first of which will be on Saturday, October 26. We are again very fortunate to have Rob Epp and Norma Lachance share their expertise. They will prepare you in plenty of time for our Fall Classic that we host in November!
For any new families, or anyone whose swimmer has moved up a level, please familiarize yourself with your Club Service Requirement for our hosted swim meets. The full document is available here , but in a nutshell, at the Fall Classic Regional Meet families are responsible for working a minimum of one of the three sessions (if their swimmer is entered in the meet). Families with swimmers in Junior, Copper, Bronze may work Level 1 jobs, such as Timer and Safety Marshal. Families with swimmers in Silver and above are expected to perform Level 2 or higher duties, such as Stroke & Turn Judge, Chief Timer, Starter, Food Service, etc.
The clinics we are offering on October 26 are: PLEASE SIGN UP FOR EACH CLINIC SEPARATELY
9:30 - 11:30am Level 1: Timer & Safety Marshal
12:00 - 2:00pm Level 2: Judge of Stroke & Inspector of Turns
9:30 - 11:30am Level 2: Chief Timer
12:00 - 2:00pm Level 2: Starter
We encourage our senior swimmers to take the training as well, so that they can perform these duties at the jamborees. This builds connections between the swimmers in the club, and teaches the senior swimmers valuable skills in the process. Students can also earn "Volunteer Hours" for school grad requirements!
The clinics will be held at KLO Middle School, 3130 Gordon Drive (corner of Gordon & KLO)
