Description

Cardinal Aquatics has an AWESOME opportunity to give back to athletes by, once again, serving at the Louisville Ironman!  This will be our 8th year serving at this event!  This is the LARGEST Ironman in the country, so you can imagine it takes MANY volunteers to make this a success!  We have been asked to serve at a water station Near Doc Cantinas.

We are HIGHLY encouraging ALL National/Senior swimmers to volunteer, but ALL our Cardinal Aquatics families are welcome to be part of the awesome event!  This is such an amazing day of great inspiration, and the more volunteers the better!  Cardinal Aquatics has had 5 coaches and 2 former team member become Ironman Finishers!!!  This year we have a former Cardinal Aquatics dad, Dr. Mark (Boz) Smith, and former team member, Elliott Roman, competing!!

From our Site Manager:
Please spread this word to your volunteers for Sunday. There are some details that will be different because Ironman has changed the run course. The aid station location is at Docs Cantina in waterfront park.

Here are some details that your people will need to know for the day:
Dress for the weather conditions that we COULD have that day. In the pas, we’ve had 80 degree weather with sun and 50 degree weather with wind and rain. We need to be prepared for either extreme.

Bring your own food and water. We can't use the items set aside for the athletes.

Park at slugger field Downtown and look for the Springdale Community Church tear drop flag sign in the north of the parking lot. I will have a shuttle van available to pick you up to take you to your aid station. A guy by the name of John Adams will be driving that van for you.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your shift.

Please bring a friend.

Please be willing to stay a little longer than your agreed upon shift. That will help the day go a little smoother.

Please call me if you have any questions. My cell phone number is 704-974-1203. I know you have questions...feel free to ask. Happy to make things clear.

Thanks for your help!!!  Matt Williams
