2020 Time Trials
Time Trials is an intra-squad meet designed to give swimmers the opportunity to swim every event and establish a "time." Times will be used to enter swimmers in future dual meets. There are no relays. The meet typically lasts approximately three hours.
**Home meet tents will be provided. Tent assignments will be sent via email and posted to the website prior to the meet**
Warm-ups: Please have all swimmers at the pool by 10:00am. Warm-ups will start promptly at 10:15am. The meet will start promptly at 11:00am.
What is Time Trials? Time Trials is an intra-squad meet which gives swimmers the opportunity to swim every event* and establish a time for each event. Times will be used to create meet lineups for future meets. Time Trials is also an opportunity for new swimmers/families to experience a “swim meet” without the pressure of another team present.
Order of Events:
Except for the first event, each event will begin with 6 and Under Girls and will then go to 6 and Under Boys and so forth through all age groups. There will likely be several heats of each age group in each event. There are no relays at Time Trials, therefore the meet will begin with - 7/8 Girls IM.
*NOTE: 6 and under swimmers do not swim the Individual Medley and in some cases will not swim strokes that they have not yet mastered. In the interest of time, there will only be a few heats of 7/8 and 9/10 IMs during Time Trials.
Lineups: Lineups will be available prior to the meet on this page. Please bring a Sharpie pen to mark your swimmers back with their name and hand with their events. To view how to mark your swimmer, click here.
Results: Results will be posted on this page following the meet. You may also access your swimmer/s results by selecting “My Account” and then “My Meet Results” from the menu on the left side of the website homepage.
Awards/Records: Swimmers do not receive ribbons for Time Trials. Please note that NO County Times, Pool or Team records can be set at Time Trials.
Apparel: All swimmers should wear their Round Hill team suit and team cap. The team suit and team cap are mandatory for all meets. If you have not yet received your team suit, please either wear your team suit from prior years or a simple racing suit. If you have not yet ordered a team suit, please contact Hillary at firstname.lastname@example.org. Team shirts will be handed out at Time Trials. In addition, Team Heat lawn signs will be available for purchase.
6 and Under and 7/8 Parents, please note: You will be responsible for getting your swimmer to their lane in advance of their race. For all 6/u and 7/8 events, a bell is rung approximately 5 -10 minutes prior to an event. Please stop and listen to the bell ringer, as they will be announcing the group that is to line up at their lanes. Each lane will have a clerk who will be sure to line your swimmer up in the proper order. There will also be a coach or junior coach at or near each lane. Once you have checked your swimmer in with the appropriate clerk, please exit the starting block area.
Jobs: Please look out for a communication from Kirsten Hazard if you were scheduled to work a job at Time Trials.
Food: Will be available for purchase.
Where to Sit: For Time Trials ONLY, families and swimmers may sit in their assigned tents or anywhere in the pool facility. During dual meets, Round Hill families are to sit on the main pool deck and the lap pool area. The hill is reserved for the visiting team.
