2020 14U MID STATES ALL STAR MEET
@ IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN
General Information... At this meet Team Michigan will compete against Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Each All Star Team is allowed to enter four swimmers per individual event, except for the 1650s, where only 2 swimmers are allowed. Each All Star Team can also field two relays per age group. The meet consists of two timed finals sessions, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Click here for the 2020 Mid-States All Star Meet Announcement. Any questions from Team Michigan families should be sent to Dawn Gurley at [email protected], not to any of the listed meet officials. .
Minimum Entry Standards... Team Michigan Girls Minimum = National AA. Team Michigan Boys Minimum = National A. All swimmers who meet the minimum entry standard in at least one event may enter six total events. Entering an event is no guarantee you'll be selected. Please see details on the selection process below. Click here for National Motivational Standards.
Selection to Team Michigan... After the entry deadline, the fastest four swimmers in each event will be invited to attend the meet. If a selected swimmer declines their invitation, the next fastest swimmer on the entry list will be invited to attend. Results from sanctioned, approved, or observed USA Swimming meets between January 1st, 2019 and the December 15, 2019 will be considered. Most athletes at this event do not end up swimming a full six-event line up. Girls selections are typically quite competitive, and we're hoping to take a full team of boys this year.
Entering the Meet... To add a swimmer to an event, click above, select your swimmers name, then click the boxes to check-mark the events in which they would like to be considered. You can select up to six events. Make sure to click "save changes" at the bottom of the page. Once you are done, you should be able to see your swimmer's event selections if they were saved correctly.
Entry Time Verification... The database on this website is independent of all other databases. If your swimmer's entry times are not up-to-date or are not appearing at all, you will need to bring this to our attention by leaving a note in the "Notes" area on the entry page. Most helpful is listing your swimmer's event, their fastest time, and the meet/date it was achieved. With that information we can usually add their time to our database. If we've made a correction or added a manual entry time, we will delete your cooresponding note. We will consider times that can found in the sanctioned, approved, or observed competitions. A side note... we don't usually make updates until close the entry deadlines; it is easier if we do one or two updates at the end than six updates as swimmers get best time each weekend in November. Finally, please do not email time updates. They get lost. That is why we use the "Notes" area on the entry page; it's one, consistent place for us to look.
More Logistical Details... Team Michigan check-in will open at 8:am in the Wast Concourse of the IUPUI Natatorium (behind the spectator bleachers). Our team picture will be promptly at 9:15am and warm-up will begin at 10:00am. Relay only, 1650 only, or Sunday only swimmers can arrange a later check-in time if desired.
