2020 Vince Herring Classic Swim Meet ~ Rochester Swim Club

Meet Type:

This is a 2 1/2 day, with timed final and prelim-final sessions. The top 24 finishers in each Senior Girls preliminary event and top 16 finishers in each 13/14 Girls and Senior Boys preliminary event will advance to the evening session of finals. This meet is open to all teams in the MN LSC as well as teams outside of MN and its LSC.

SCHEDULE: (Warm-up times approx); Warm-ups may start in the shallow end or warm-up pool for some afternoon sessions with at least of 10 min in the main competition pool 

Session 1 - Friday AM -Timed Finals ; Warmups start at 11:30am; Meet starts at 12:30pm

Session 2 - Friday PM- 12 & Unders Timed Finals; Warmups not before 3:00pm

Session 3 - Saturday AM-13 & Over Prelims; Warmups 6:45am-7:50am; Meet starts at 8:00am
*Note there may be a 5 minute break after the Open Girls Relay.

Session 4 - Saturday PM-12 & Under Timed Finals; Warmups not before 11am

Session 5- Saturday Finals (Top 24 Open Girls, Top 16 13-14 Girls and Open Boys); Warmups not before 3:00pm; Meet starts not before 4:00pm

Session 6 - Sunday AM-12 & Under Timed Finals; Warmups 7:20am-8:25am; Meet starts at 8:30am

Session 7 - Sunday PM-13 & Over Timed Finals; Warmups not before 11:00am *Note-there may be a 5 minute break after the Open Girls Relay.

Assigned warmup lanes/times will be emailed to teams prior to the meet.

 

AWARDS:

Individual Medals 1st-8th; Relay Medals 1st-3rd

Scoring: The meet will use traditional 16 place scoring for all Prelim/Final and Timed Final events. Events will only be scored through the number of athletes participating in a final-for example: if the event is Prelim/Final and only the Top 8 in that events swim at night, then only the Top 8 will score.

Relays are double points.

Custom towels for the King & Queen of the Mountain (Fastest total time in 1650, 500, and 1000 events).

 

ENTRY LIMITS:

Age of a swimmer is determined by their age on the first day of the meet. 13 & Over swimmers individual entry limitations are: 3 events on Friday, 3 events on Saturday and 4 events on Sunday for a total of 10 event limit. 12 & Under swimmers individual entry limitations are: 3 events on Friday, 4 events on Saturday and 4 events on Sunday for a total of 11 event limit. A swimmer may also swim in 1 relay per day. All seed times must be in yards.

Swimmers must qualify with 2017-2020 USA 'BB' times for all events. Host club reserves the right to limit entries in events 200 yards and longer and/or swim simultaneously in 2 pools. The host club may enter athletes in events 50 to 100 yards with no minimum standard but must use no slower than 'BB' standards for qualifying purposes - 13-14 boys should choose this option to compete in.
8 & Under athletes will use the time standards indicated in the meet information/OOE. These are the same standards used in 2019.

Relays have no qualifying times and no limit on the number of entries per team.

50's of stroke (Fly, Back, and Breast) and the 100 IM have no entry qualification time requirement for athletes 13 years old and older.

 

AMENITIES:

Programs will be on sale during the meet

There are 950 seats located on the West side of the pool. Camping and concessions will be available in the Gym. Spectators must sit in the bleachers above the walkway. Only competitors and coaches will be allowed to use the seating on the east side and the ground level seating on the west side of the competition pool. NO FOOD OR GLASS CONTAINERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE POOL AREA. THIS INCLUDES THE POOLSIDE SEATING AND BLEACHER AREA. COMPETITORS MAY BRING SPORTS DRINKS (IN PLASTIC CONTAINERS) INTO THE COMPETITION AREA. SPECTATORS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE POOL AREA IF FOOD IS BROUGHT IN. TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP THEIR AREAS AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH SESSION. A Coaches Hospitality room will be provided with meals at appropriate times and water/snacks available throughout the day. The Rochester Swim Club reserves the right to remove anyone from the facility or facilities the club is using while conducting a swim meet. Facility staff and/or local law enforcement will be called if a person chooses to be argumentative or unwilling to respect the wishes of Rochester Swim Club meet administration.

Fees:

MSI & AQJT Entry fee $15.00 and $8.00 per Individual Swim, $24.00 per Relay Swim and a per swimmer facility fee of $15.00 which will be used to pay for pool rental and RSI surcharge. Meet programs will be on sale for $5.00 per session or an all-inclusive $15.00 for the meet. Meet Mobile will also be available.
