The AMS Diversty & Inclusion Committee is organizing a trip to the Black History Meet in Washington, DC the weekend of February 14 - 16, 2020.

Dear Parents and Swimmers,

I am both excited and pleased to see you will be participating in this event. Below I have included some specific information and details for this weekend.


There are a block of rooms reserved for swimmers attending the meet for the weekend at the Home2Suites in Silver Springs Maryland which is (20 min) from the meet site. When booking a room, be sure to use my name and email. Melinda Suzensky AMS swim meet or
The room rate is $119 a night.

Accomendations as follows:

  • We will pay for one night stay for the swimmer that is participating in the events for the weekend. (Documentation and receipt of the bill must be given to the Diversity Chair upon checkout.)
  • We will be having a group meal Saturday evening . Each swimmer’s meal will be paid for $20 or less.
  • Each swimmer will receive a bag and T-Shirt at check -in.
  • Snacks and drinks will be provided for each swimmer over the course of their stay.

*** All swimmers are responsable for their own swim attire and bags. Please make sure you have your name on your things as well. If you have any other questions, Please contact me at 412-758-7971 or .

How to Register for AMS DEI Sponsored events:

To participate in the Allegheny Mountain DEI Sponsored Events, please complete the registration form (link below). 
Registration Deadline: January 20, 2020
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required when submitting the form.

How to Enter the Meet:

The Allegheny Mountain DEI sponsored events do not include meet entries.  Entry procedures are on the Meet Announcement - meet entry deadline January 31, 2020.  The meet announcement and and event file are available on the AMS Web Site.
