Championship Invite Practice
Coaches will invite swimmers meeting the criteria below for our championship level meet, to attend this practice. Our next championship level meet is Age Group Regionals and Senior Sectionals, in March We would like to bring the swimmers together that are likely to participate at these meets, for focused practices. This time will be spent on race specific focuses, such as relay exchanges.
Criteria for Invite Practice
Individuals Swimmers: Swimmer who have made individual times for their age group in the next championship level. Swimmers aging up before the next championship meet will need to meet the new age group standard to participate.
Relay Swimmers: Five swimmers that meet or are within the times below will asked to participate in these practices. These swimmers will be generated through our computer system based on best times for swimmers in each event.
200 Relay Top 5 Swimmers meeting or within 4 seconds of meet standard for their age group.
400 Relay Top 5 Swimmers meeting or within 6 seconds of meet standard for their age group.
800 Relay Top 5 Swimmers meeting or within 8 seconds of meet standard for their age group.
These invitations will be evaluated and altered based on performances at our last meet. Your swimmer will only be invited should they have met the criteria below. These invitations may change often based on each swimmer’s times at the previous meet. After each meet, we will run times reports for the fastest relay team for each event, and add one alternate in. This will allow us to have a backup swimmer familiar with swimming with that specific team.
It is our expectation that if your swimmer is attending this practice, they will be available for the Age Group Regionals, March 19-22 or the Senior Sectional Meets 12-15, 2020. If they are not going to be able to attend the meet, please let us know now, so we can determine if another swimmer will meet the criteria to join us. For instance, one missing relay swimmer can mean the difference between making the time and not. It is important for us to have the swimmers at these practices who will be swimming at the meet.
