Illinois State YMCA Championships
Illinois State YMCA Championships in St. John, IN – Friday, March 13 - Sunday, March 15
The Illinois State YMCA Swimming Championships will be held on Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15 in St. John, IN. ALL SWIMMERS, WHO HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THIS MEET, ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. Swimmers wanting to swim in this meet must sign-up online by Monday, March 2, 2020.
This is the one meet DCST tries to win every year. Our goal is to finish first in all three divisions (girls, boys and combined). Therefore, swimmers will be entered in the events in which the coaching staff feels will score the most points for the team. As a team, we can only enter 1 relay per relay event at the State Meet, assuming we have achieved the State Qualifying time. DCST expects to enter a relay in each relay event. On some relays, we may be using some swimmers who did not qualify for the meet in any individual events. Therefore, even if a swimmer doesn’t qualify for the meet in an individual event, please sign up for the meet. If necessary, the coaching staff may enter these swimmers on a relay(s).
A more definite time line will be available a few days prior to the meet. Note – There is one big difference between this meet and the District Championship Meet. Swimmers ages 11 and older will have a final session in the evening for some, not all, individual events.
