Mariners Annual Swim For A Cause
Question: Do you ever ask yourself, how can I help others? Maybe you would help cancer survivors, people with parkinsons, or people with MS. Maybe you know someone who is close to preventable diabetes or a youth or teen who can use some counseling. Perhaps you know someone who has been diagnosed with heart disease or could use some help with weight loss. You might have an aging family member who needs to work on their mobility and fitness to live a fuller life. Did you know the Madison Area YMCA offers low or no fee programs for all of these challenges and so much more including providing financial assistance to those who can't afford to be part of the YMCA.
How can I help?: Participate in the swim, get some pledges, make a donation or just tell others who might be helped by the Y.
When: February 24th at FDU. 12/U at 5 PM - 13/O's 6:00 to 730.
We will split the groups so one group of kids counts for the other group of kids. All kids will swim 25 to 40 minutes each.
You can get donations per lap or a flat fee.
You can swim whether you collect funds or not to support the cause. You can collect funds event if you don't swim.
Everything the Y does is in service of making us better. For some people, these services may not be attainable because of cost. The Y makes sure that these services are available to everyone in the community, regardless of income. From athletics, to education, to health services, to safe spaces, the Y fills gaps where society falls short.
When you donate to the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund,
you are donating through the Y and directly to members of our
community, making it possible for children, families and adults
have access to Y programs that improve their lives. Donations help
ensure that Y membership, programs, child care and education are
accessible to every member in our community, regardless of their
ability to pay. They also help ensure that health and wellness
programs stay viable, vibrant and strong.
