WYSI Winter Championships

Mar 6, 2020 (08:00 AM) - Mar 8, 2020 (10:00 PM)
February, 22 2020

If a swimmer is entered in more than the maximum number of events per day, meet management in concurrence with the Meet Referee will drop the entered events starting with the last event of the day(s) in question.
This meet will be pre-seeded, with the exception of events 400 yards or longer. There will be a positive check-in each day for all competitors in any individual event 400 yards or longer. Seeding will take place after the positive check-in period. Positive check-in for the first day’s events will close 30 minutes after the general coaches’ meeting is adjourned. Positive check-in for all subsequent days’ events shall be 30 minutes after the time established for the start of the preceding day’s finals session.  Please be aware of the check-in dates/times to prevent athletes from being barred from these events.
The Meet Referee reserves the right to combine events and heats of differing age, gender, distance and/or stroke per section 102.7.2.
Scratch Procedures:  Preliminaries and Timed Finals
Swimmers may scratch from an event in which they are entered by submitting a scratch card to the Meet Director prior to the event.
The names of swimmers qualifying for a final race, along with the alternate qualifiers, shall be announced by public address.  Swimmers will have thirty (30) minutes from the announcement to notify the Referee that they may not intend to compete and further declare their final intentions within thirty (30) minutes following their last individual preliminary event.   A swimmer in an individual event who fails to compete in said final shall be barred from further competition for the remainder of the meet, unless the swimmer has been excused by the Referee due to illness, injury, or circumstances beyond the control of the swimmer. A declared false start under 101.1.3E or deliberate delay of meet under 101.1.5 is not permitted and will be regarded as a failure to compete.
In the event of withdrawal or barring of a swimmer from competition the Referee shall fill the final, when possible, with the next qualified swimmer(s).
The alternates shall not be penalized if unavailable to compete in the finals.
