Camp Lejeune Summer Swim Prep
Description: This is a month-long session developed for those wanting to prepare for summer, recreational swim teams.
Eligibility: It is open for beginning through advanced swimmers and coached by USA Swimming certified coaches.
Goals: Swimmers will learn and improve upon proper technique for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medleys. They will also learn flip turns, two-hand-touch turns, and bucket turns. Swimmers will be taught competitive swim starts off blocks. Swimmers will also have the opportunity to participate in weekly, core-strengthening dryland training.
Session dates and times:
May 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 20, 22, 23, 27
Saturdays- Dryland 7:30-8am, Swim 8:00-10:00am
Area 5 Training Tank on Julian C. Smith Blvd. on Camp Lejeune’s main base. (On the same street as the dental clinic)
Minimum requirements: Swimmer must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle and backstroke. Short swim evaluations are available by emailing ECAcoachJodie@gmail.com
