Description

Channel Cats,

Governor Inslee recently modified Phase 1 for water recreation facilities. I initially considered us to be in the lap swimming part of the directives. But the owners of the Court Club think that since we are providing instruction, we should fall within the swim lesson part of the directives. Anyways, the Tri City Court Club has agreed to let the Channel Cats practice in Pool 1 and Pool 2 using certain guidelines. We have use of the pools Monday thru Friday, 6:00-9:00am and Monday thru Thursday,12:00-2:00pm. We will have 4 swimmers per lane (one at the North end, one at the South end, one 1/3 down the pool, and another 2/3 down the pool). Coaches will insist on social distancing before, during, and after practice. These practices will start Wednesday, August 5 and continue thru the month of August.

The cost for this, in addition to your monthly dues, will be $53.00 + tax = $57.56/swimmer, if you are not a member of the Tri City Court Club. Some of you have already (August 1) been billed for the Open Water swimming. You will not be billed again. If you were not billed for Open Water swimming and choose to participate, you will be billed your normal monthly fee. There are NO FAMILY DISCOUNTS AND NO REFUNDS, IF THE GOVERNOR CHANGES WHAT PHASE WE ARE IN!!! We realize there will be some families that are going to err on the side of caution and do not want their swimmers back in the pool yet. These families will not be billed for August if their swimmers are not swimming. To sign up for the summer practices, you have until Sunday, August 2 to sign up on the website (the same system that you use to sign up for your swimmer for a swim meet). As soon as I have participation numbers, I will put together the practice groups. My initial thoughts are for the Gold and Silver for 1.5 hours, Bronze for 1 hour, and Blue 1 and 2 swimmers to be in the water for 45 minutes. The groups will be based on ability and speed. Please do not ask for exceptions. This is hard enough to figure out who is going to swim at what time without trying to accommodate the multiple requests that I get.

ENTRY INTO THE POOL WILL BE FROM THE PARKING LOT DOOR. ARRIVE AT THE POOL IN YOUR SUIT, AND LEAVE IN YOUR SUIT. THE LOCKER ROOMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

Please read the TCCC Covid Plan for info on how we plan to keep everyone safe during practice. We will also need everyone to sign the Liability and Indemnification Form.
