TIME TRIAL INFO
POOL/DIRECTIONS: Santa Clarita Aquatic Center

14 FWY NORTH: Take GOLDEN VALLEY exit. Left on GOLDEN VALLEY. Right
on CENTRE POINTE PARKWAY. Right into second driveway. From 14 FWY

CENTRE POINTE PARKWAY. Right into second driveway.
COURSE: The Santa Clarita Aquatic Center competition pool is an outdoor 25 yard x 50 meter, 20 lane pool. Competition courses have been certified in accordance with 104.22.2(C) on file with USA Swimming. Course on South end on pool in 10 lanes.Pool depth at start and turn end is 7’6”. All events will be swum fast to slow. Deck closed to spectators.
RULES: All coaches and officials on deck must have completed the CDC or NFHS Concussion Course, Current USA Swimming rules, including the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP), will govern this time trial.
RECORDING DEVICES AND MEDIA NOTICE: The use of audio-visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in locker rooms or restrooms. Recording devices are not permitted behind the starting blocks during the starting sequence throughout the time trial. This time trial may be covered by the media, including photographs, video, web casting and other forms of obtaining images of athletes participating in the time trial. Entry into the time trial is acknowledgement and consent to this fact.
DRONES: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present.

RACING START CERTIFICATION: Any swimmer entered in the time trial must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to athletes who hold 2020 and 2021 USA Swimming Registration. All athletes 18 years and older must complete the free online Athlete Protection Training in order to compete in the time trial.

Local Protocols & Requirements
• Face coverings to be worn in all public places
• Maintain 6ft of separation
• All users will have temperature checked prior to entering building
o Temperature reading of 100.4 F or higher will result in being sent home
• No more than 5 athletes/lane
• Locker room and bathroom facilities for emergency use only
• Masks to be worn by athletes when entering the facility, between swims, and exiting the facility
• Masks to be worn by coaches, officials, lifeguards, and facility personnel at all times
• Bleachers marked off for athletes to set down personal belongings
• Athletes will come with suits on and leave with suits on

• Staggered starting ends used for general warm-up session
Parents and spectators not allowed in facility
Touch pad only. No buttons or timer chairs. One backup timer with stop watch.
Athletes will rest in their warm-down lanes or on deck 6ft apart.

In applying for this event, the Host, Canyons Aquatic Club, agrees to comply and to enforce all health and safety mandates and guidelines of USA Swimming, Southern California Swimming, the State of California, Los Angeles County and the City of Santa Clarita.
Assumption of Risk
All athletes, coaches, parents, volunteers, and officials will sign the Canyons Aquatic Club Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19.
USA Swimming Acknowledgement of Risk
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
USA Swimming, Inc., cannot prevent you (or your child(ren)) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading
COVID-19 while participating. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate in this event, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.
BY ATTENDING OR PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT, YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS
ASSOCIATED WITH EXPOSURE TO COVID-19 AND FOREVER RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS USA SWIMMING AND [THE LSC] AND EACH OF THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVES FROM ANY LIABILITY OR CLAIMS INCLUDING FOR PERSONAL INJURIES, DEATH, DISEASE OR PROPERTY LOSSES, OR ANY OTHER LOSS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE AND GIVE UP ANY CLAIMS YOU MAY HAVE TO SEEK DAMAGES, WHETHER KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, FORESEEN OR UNFORESEEN, IN CONNECTION WITH EXPOSURE, INFECTION, AND/OR SPREAD OF COVID-19 RELATED TO PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT.
