From PSCT Coach Brian:
I have attached the meet invitation for the 2020 Speedo Beach
Blast September 25-27 in Panama City Beach. We are fortunate
to have a large outdoor facility which will allow us to run a fun
and safe event. We have made a few adjustments in order to
comply with Covid-19 guidelines. We have run two events in the past
few weeks with 200 people inside the facility and have had no
issues. Our capacity has been set at 250 inside the
facility. Please read through the following notes and let me
know if you have any questions.
1) We have split the meet into more sessions based on age
groups. No more than 150 swimmers per session but
ideally the session would be about 125 swimmers. Friday
session will be 13&Over. The rest of the meet, sessions
will be split into 15&Over, 13-14, 11-12, and
10&Under. 10&Under swimmers will only have one
session in the meet (Saturday evening). The general idea is
for each session to have a 40 minute warmup and a 2 hour
session. We will have 10 lanes of warmdown available during
2) In order to control the numbers allowed inside the
facility, we will only allow parents to enter the facility if they
sign up as a volunteer. Parents from all teams will be
allowed to volunteer via a signup genius page which will go live on
Friday September 18 (link provided after entries received).
We hope to have two groups of timers and runners thus allowing
volunteers to only have to work half of the session and simply be
spectators the other half. We will also have volunteers
allotted to each team to monitor their team's social
3) Spectators who are not able to access the facility due to
capacity being met will be allowed to view the meet from outside
the chain link fence with direct line of sight to the pool.
4) After entries have been received, I will host a zoom call
for all attending coaches to go over any details on the setup of
the pool, etc...
