Meet Host:

Aquajets Swim Team

Meet Type:

Sanctioned- AQJT Virtual Meet (SCSC is participating at the Aquajets Location)

Aquajets Swim Team will be the host team.  The host team is responsible for completing all the requirements on the MNSI Swim Meet Sanction Checklist. In addition, the host will merge the meet after each team has completed the meet for results purposes.  Each team will run the meet on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at times that are available at each participating team’s facility and will finish all sessions by 10:00 PM. Each location can run the sessions in any order on November 7thth, 2020 and can run the same session multiple times to accommodate more swimmers. However, no changes to the session’s order of events can be made as each location will need to run the same order of events per session.

Teams that can participate in this meet are teams and athletes that are registered within MNSI.  Teams must be able to run a full meet at their pool and each team can decide if their facility is able to include another team at their location.  This includes providing their own officials, volunteers and equipment needed to run the meet at their pool. Teams will comply with the current state, local, health and USA Swimming guidelines available on the meet date and should meet or exceed all requirements in their facility during the meet. It is not the host team’s responsibility to ensure each team is following the state, local, health and USA Swimming guidelines. The meet will be limited to 12 teams.

Masks/cloth face coverings will be mandatory for all participants. Participants are defined as swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers and all other applicable adults as defined by MAAPP. Everyone must wear a mask/cloth face covering for the duration of the meet.

Swimmers only have an exception during the swim cycle. The “swim cycle” is defined as the time period beginning with the swimmer being called from the bleachers for their warm-up or race, until their warm-up or race/cool down has ended. After a race, swimmers will proceed directly to the cool down pool, swim as directed by their coach (in a socially distant manner) and that particular swim cycle would end once their cool down is complete. The swimmer will then return immediately to the bleachers, re-apply their mask/face covering, and receive splits/feedback/coaching from their coach in a socially distant manner. Swimmers must wear their mask /cloth face covering when not swimming.

Masks/cloth face coverings must be worn properly according to CDC guidelines and cover the nose and mouth.

If participants and spectators are not abiding by the mask/cloth face covering rule, the competition will suspend until all participants and spectators are in compliance or the offenders have left the venue.

Aquajets will be providing a live stream option for the meet, more details to come! All teams will continuously monitor the evolving guidelines pertaining to group size as it relates to COVID-19 and guidelines from various local and state agencies. Limiting the amount of people in the facility at this time will help keep the swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers safe during the meet. Teams participating will provide at least two adult volunteers to be present with/observe swimmers when they are in areas outside of the pool deck.

There will be NO food offered in the dryland area like Aquajets has done in previous meets. Families should plan accordingly.

Each team should provide bottled water for officials, coaches and volunteers during meet. Officials, coaches and volunteers that will be attending multiple sessions during the meet can be provided food in between sessions.

Each team participating in the meet will abide by their team’s COVID-19 Preparedness Plans for their facility, including entry/exit procedures into the facility and cleaning protocols.  However, the following items are required for teams to participate in the meet:

  1. Complete your team’s LSC Sanction Requirements and include this document with the team entries that are submitted.  The host team will submit all the LSC Sanction Requirements from participating teams to MNSI.  The host team is required to include their LSC Sanction Requirements with the sanction request.
  2. All teams need to have anyone entering the facility for the meet to complete a waiver. If teams have already completed this in their Return to Practice procedures for swimmers and coaches, then only needs to be done for volunteers, spectators and officials for this meet.
  3. Mandated capacity limits must be followed.
  4. The number of officials on the pool deck needs to be the same among all locations participating. Officials for each location need to be final and sent to Danielle Wentzel (danielle@aquajets.com) by Saturday October 31st, 2020.
  5. Officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators, and swimmers must wear a face mask at all times except for swimmers when they are in the water. Swimmers should plan on bringing extra face masks as theirs may get wet and plastic baggies to put used masks in throughout the meet.
  6. Swimmers must enter and leave the building in their swimsuits. Locker rooms will be off-limits, and a bathroom for the swimmers will be available for emergency use only, one person at a time. Drinking fountains will also be unavailable.
  7. Ingress into the facility must include health screening questions and should include temperature screening either at the facility or prior to arrival, no person shall be admitted with a temperature over 100.4 F or in accordance with CDC, or local health department recommendations.
  8. Only 1 lane timer per a lane will be used during the meet. Touch pads will use for each lane during the meet.
  9. Teams participating will communicate all expectations and protocols for the meet to their team participants and observers in a timely matter before the meet date to ensure all participants are clearly aware of the requirements.
  10. Officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators and swimmers must maintain current social distancing guidelines throughout the meet. Some suggestions to help maintain social distancing are, but not limited to:
    1. Group swimmers within a session to an assigned area to wait in between races. This will also help with contact tracing if a positive test of COVID-19 were to be reported after the meet. These swimmers, if not in the water, should only be in their assigned area. Have swimmers bring their own chair to use during the meet or an extra towel to sit on. To comply with Safe Sport/MAAPP ensure at least 2 adult volunteers are present with swimmers when they are in areas outside of the pool deck.
    2. Add 1-2 volunteers per session to help monitor social distancing during the meet, similar to meet/safety marshals.
    3. Add additional tables, if necessary, for the Meet Admin Table to ensure spacing.
