    • Warm-ups at 8:20-8:35AM (Please arrive at the Lee's Summit R-7 Aquatic Center at 8AM) - Lanes 4-8
    • Dives at 8:40-8:50AM
    • Meet Start at 9AM
  • 13 & Older Session
    • Warm-ups at 10:45-11AM (Please arrive at the Lee's Summit R-7 Aquatic Center at 10:30AM) - Lanes 4-9
    • Dives at 11:05-11:15AM
    • Meet Start at 11:30AM

Sprint Meet with LS Surge at R7 Aquatic Center ... At this time, we are trying to get a gauge on number of swimmers participating in order to make sure we stay below 50 swimmers per session. This will be our first meet with R7 of several. We will have on 50s and 100s. The cost is a flat fee of $25 per swimmer 3 events and includes the coaches fee.

TYPE OF MEET: Timed finals. Tri meet (Closed to KC Swim Academy and Lee’s Summit Surge and Waves Swim Team) 

 

SANCTION: Held under the sanction of Missouri Valley Swimming Inc. on behalf of USA Swimming Inc. Sanction number: MAL Blanket Sanction.

POOL LOCATION: R7 Aquatic Center - 3498 SW Windemere Drive, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082

COURSE: 25 short course yard eight lane pool with non-turbulent racing lane lines. Horn start, custom-designed starting blocks and Daktronic Timing System will be used. The depth of the competition course at the start end is 13.6 feet, and the depth at the turn end is 7 feet. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Copy of certification is on file with USA Swimming.

 

RULES: 

  • Current USA Swimming Rules, including the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (“MAAPP”), will govern this meet. MVS Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect. MVS Scratch Rule will apply. All deck officials must be able to prove to the satisfaction of the referee that they hold a current USA Swimming official membership. 
  • Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. 
  • Deck changes are prohibited. Any kind of tape on the body is not permitted unless approved by the Referee. Only swimsuits complying with FINA swimsuit specifications may be worn in any USA Swimming sanctioned or approved competition. FINA requirements for swimwear approval (FRSA) Rule 4.1.6 states: No zippers or other fastening system is allowed. It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. 

 

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be registered as a 2020 or 2021 athlete member of USA Swimming. The age of the swimmer as the first day of the meet will determine their age for the entire meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach, as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. 

 

SEEDING: Meet will be pre-seeded slowest to fastest and events will me mixed.

 

ENTRY LIMIT: Swimmers may swim a maximum of three events per day. Entries for all teams may be limited further if any individual sessions exceeds 50 total swimmers.

 

ENTRIES: All entries must be submitted electronically using Hy-Tek software and accompanied by a Team Manager Entry summary printout. All entries must include each swimmer’s USA Swimming registration number. Registration of all athletes will be verified by the MVS Registration Chair prior to the meet. Those not registered will not be allowed to swim in the meet. Also, include a contact person with phone number and email address. 

 

LATE/DECK ENTRY FEES: Will NOT be accepted.

WARM UP PROCEDURES: 

Swimmers may not dive into the pool during general warm-up. Swimmers must enter the pool by stepping in feet first, or sitting and sliding in, in a safe and cautious manner. Entering in any other manner may result in the disqualification from one or more of the swimmer’s events for that session at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Swimmers may dive during a designated sprint warm up. 

 

COACHES: Each coach must be able to prove, to the satisfaction of the referee, that they hold a current USA Swimming coach membership. A coaches’ packet will be available at start of the meet provided all fees have been paid. Hospitality room is not provided. 

 

SCRATCHES: All scratches are requested 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. 

 

TIMERS/JUDGES/Volunteers: Parents will be asked to volunteer for timing, officials, and other jobs. Persons willing to help will be required to sign up on the list online by the signup deadline. 

 

FINAL RESULTS: Final Results will be posted on the Missouri Valley Website and may include the swimmer’s name, age, times and USA Swimming number.

KCSA and Lee’s Summit Surge Tri Meet Plan – October 25, 2020 

 

Note: KCSA/Lee’s Summit Surege reserves the right to modify any of these guidelines as needed to comply with local and federal Health Department guidelines. Lee’s Summit R-7 Aquatic Center is located in Lee’s Summit, MO under the Jackson County jurisdiction. Jackson County Health Department guidelines will be adhered to during swim meets. KCSA and Lee’s Summit Surge agrees to comply and to enforce all health and safety guidelines of USA Swimming, the State of Missouri and Jackson County. 

 

General Meet Precautions : 

  • This meet will be limited to swimmers from Lee’s Summit Surge and Waves Swim Team and KC Swim Academy. 
  • According to Jackson County Health Department Guidelines, pool capacity is currently 100. Numbers of swimmers, coaches, volunteers and spectators will remain below this number. 
  • Masks will be required for coaches, volunteers and spectators while in the building. 
  • All swimmers, coaches, volunteers and spectators will have their temperature taken, sign in with contact information and receive a wristband to wear for each session. 
  • One spectator permitted per family. Additionally, we will have live stream via youtube so others can watch the meet. Spectator sign up for your seat:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0B45A5A82DABFB6-1025
  • Swimmers and patrons will enter through the main lobby doors. All athletes and patrons will exit the facility using the East & West Exit doors located on the pool deck to eliminate the number of touchpoints in the facility. The locker rooms are for restroom use only. No showering, changing or lockers are available. 
  • Swimmers are to crash along the east side of the pool (shallow end near locker rooms)  and adhere to the social distancing markers that are indicated on the facility. Swimmers will line up along the glass where cones are indicated for swimmers to stand on as they wait to approach the blocks. 
  • No Parents or spectators are allowed on the pool deck/crash areas until they are exiting the facility.
  • All spectators are to sit on the yellow social distancing stickers that are on the bleachers. ABSOLUTELY NO swimmers in the spectator stands.  This is to adhere to the distancing and will dramatically reduce the cleaning time our staff performs after each session of parents. 
  • Spectators should remain in the same location while in the stands for each
    session. 
  • Social distancing is required in this space. 
  • The pool will be cleared between each session. 
  • High touch points on the pool deck and restrooms will be sanitized on a regular
    basis. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for swimmers, coaches, volunteers and spectators. 
  • There will be no refund of entry fees for any reason, including but not limited to weather, illness or facility closure.

Pre-Meet Precautions 

  • All swimmers, volunteers, coaches and spectators are expected to arrive healthy. Anyone with symptoms of illness is expected to stay home. This will be communicated to coaches and families. 
  • Swimmers will arrive in their swimsuits and ready for competition. 
  • There will be social distancing in the lanes while warming up.

Swimmers 

  • All swimmers will have their temperature taken and be checked in at the entry point. 
  • Swimmers are to crash along the east side of the pool (shallow end near locker rooms) and adhere to the social distancing markers that are indicated on the facility. Swimmers will line up along the glass where cones are indicated for swimmers to stand on as they wait to approach the blocks. No Parents or spectators are allowed on the pool deck/crash areas until they are exiting the facility
  • Swimmers will crash along the east and north wallls along the shallow area which are indicated  and will be noticeable when arrive to the facility. The line up and heat staging will be done in three heats as follows
    • 1 heat: at the blocks/swimming
    • 2 heat: along the glass lined up at the cones
    • 3 heat: line up along the south wall
  • Swimmers may only stay for the session in which they are swimming. 
  • Swimmers will wear masks until the swimmer is about to approach the block for their race. There are hooks for swimmers to hang their masks from, or they may utilize a ziplock bag to store their masks while swimming.
  • Swimmers will report to the coaches after their events then return to their crash
    spots. 
  • No deck entries will be permitted. 
  • No warm-up/cool down pool available. 
  • Swimmers can bring their own water bottles, already filled prior to entry. There are no concessions available.

Volunteers 

  • All volunteers will have their temperature taken, be asked to sign in and receive a wristband (or sticker) at the entry point. 
  • Every effort will be made to ensure that social distancing is possible while performing the various volunteer jobs. 
  • Face masks are required for volunteers.

Coaches 

  • The number of coaches is limited to 2 from each team for 6 total per session 
  • All coaches will have their temperature taken, be asked to sign in and receive a wristband at the entry point. 
  • Face masks are required for coaches.
