Back to Racing Time Trial
(this is a team hosted event)
Polar Bear, Kodiak, Silver Tip swimmers and parents;
November 28th marks the first sanctioned and official event for swimmers. Coach Carmen has outlined a program for the morning that has all Polar Bears and Kodiaks swimming 200IM and 100 Fly. Silver Tip swimmers will all swim 100 Free and 400IM, and then another 100 event that Coach decides.
Swim BC has outlined racing and officiating requirements that limits the number of officials on deck to allow for more swimmers to compete and yet makes results official. In order to do this, most officiating jobs will be doubled up. Please see the Job Sign Up and come to help out.
Furthermore, spectators on deck and at the window in the viewing area cannot be accomodated. The CGC will be closing the blinds at the viewing area to reduce the temptation of viewers at the window as social distancing cannot be maintained in this area. The CGC now also requires all patrons to wear a mask in the corridors and all shared common areas. All swimmers and officials are required to wear a mask during the time trial. In order to keep kids swimming and competing, all WGB members and parents must adhere to these requirements. Furthermore, we will outline some other logistics closer to the day.
As the meet manager, my access to the
pool booth is limited in order to set up these time trials as
WGB no longer is able to rent this space. The pool staff
allows us to use the space in order to set up and run our events.
Therefore, parents must sign up their swimmers on time and last
