2021 MN FOXJ-MTKA Dual

Held under the sanction of USA Swimming.

It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries, including exposure to or infected with COVID-19 which may result in illness, personal injury, permanent disability, and/or death, to anyone during the conduct of the event.

It is further understood and agreed that Minnesota Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries, including exposure or and infected with COVID-19 which may result in illness, personal injury, permanent disability, and/or death, to anyone during the conduct of the event.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exits in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

USA Swimming, Inc., cannot prevent you (or your child(ren)) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in the USA Swimming sanctioned events. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate in a USA Swimming sanctioned event, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

By attending or participating in this competition, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with exposure to COVID-19 and forever release and hold harmless USA Swimming, Minnesota Swimming, Foxjets Swim Team and each of their officers, directors, agents, employees or other representatives from any liability or claims including personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims you may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, in connection with exposure, inflection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to participation in this competition.

You acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that your family, including child(ren), may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while on site at the pool or facility and that such exposure or infection may result in the personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the pool or facility may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, the Foxjets Swim Team and other swim teams participating in the meet and pool management company’s employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.

Foxjets Swim Team and participating teams will include the above information in meet announcements, heat sheets and posted around the pool facility. Foxjets Swim Team reserves the right to cancel this meet at anytime.

Meet Type: 

Double Dual Invitational - no time standard limitations, but teams are encouraged to enter swimmers in events of a lower qualification level. Two sessions are offered - teams are limited to 48 swimmers per team per session (total of 96 athletes per session). Morning Session teams are FOXJ and WEST, Afternoon Session teams are FOXJ and MTKA. The same Order of Events will be offered in each session.

Participants / Eligibility: 

All swimmers are eligible - teams are encouraged to enter swimmers with times mostly at the Bronze level or slower. This meet will be pre-seeded, and no deck entries will be allowed.

Fees:

$40 Facility Fee per swimmer (includes program); $3.00 per individual splash

Meet Schedule:

Afternoon Session: Doors Open 30 minutes following conclusion of morning session (warm-up 15 minutes after doors, meet start 1 hour after doors)

Entry Deadline / Limitations:

Deadline to signup is on Monday, January 18, 2021. 

A swimmer may compete in a maximum of 3 individual events per day.

Programs:  

Programs will be available via Meet Mobile, PDF on MNSI Website and PDF on host website.

Amenities:

No camping, no spectators permitted. Meet will be viewable by livestream.

COVID-19 Procedures & Requirements:

The host team will abide by the COVID-19 Preparedness Plans for the facility the meet

is taking place at, including entry/exit procedures into the facility and cleaning

protocols.

  1. The host team is required to include their LSC Sanction Requirements with the sanction request.
  2. Athlete participants will perform online health verification prior to arrive, non-athlete participants will complete a waiver.
  3. Mandated capacity limits must be followed
  4. All officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators, and swimmers will always wear a face mask except for swimmers when they are in the water. Swimmers should plan on bringing extra face masks as theirs may get wet and plastic baggies to put used masks in throughout the meet.
  5. The host team will communicate all expectations and protocols for the meet to all participants and observers in a timely matter before the meet date to ensure all participants are clearly aware of the requirements.
  6. Officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators, and swimmers must maintain current social distancing guidelines throughout the meet. Some suggestions to help maintain social distancing are, but not limited to:
    1. Group swimmers within a session to an assigned area to wait in between races. This will also help with contact tracing if a positive test of COVID-19 were to be reported after the meet. These swimmers, if not in the water, should only be in their assigned area. Have swimmers bring their own chair to use during the meet or an extra towel to sit on. To comply with Safe Sport/MAAPP ensure at least 2 adult volunteers are present with swimmers when they are in areas outside of the pool deck.
    2. Add 1-2 volunteers per session to help monitor social distancing during the meet, similar to meet/safety marshals. 

Meet Procedure:

Athletes must arrive already wearing swimsuits. Athletes may use the locker rooms to change into clothing ONLY after completion of swimming. No bathroom use in the locker rooms. Participants may not enter any spaces in the building aside from the Aquatics Center. Bathrooms adjacent to the pool deck may be used (non-athlete and athlete) will be marked accordingly. No food or drink will be served. Personal snacks and drinks are permitted, but must be kept within bags. No glass is permitted anywhere in the Aquatics Center.
