Each team participating in the meet will abide by
the COVID-19 Preparedness Plans for the facility, including
entry/exit procedures into the facility and cleaning protocols.
However, the following items are required for teams to participate
in the meet:
1. The host team is required to include their LSC
Sanction Requirements with the sanction
request.
2. All teams may need to have anyone entering the
facility for the meet to complete a waiver. If teams have already
completed this in their Return to Practice procedures for swimmers
and coaches, then only needs to be done for volunteers, spectators
and officials for this meet.
3. Mandated capacity limits must be
followed.
4. All officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators
and swimmers wear a face mask at all times except for swimmers when
they are in the water. Swimmers should plan on bringing extra face
masks as theirs may get wet and plastic baggies to put used masks
in throughout the meet.
5. Teams participating will communicate all
expectations and protocols for the meet to their team participants
and observers in a timely matter before the meet date to ensure all
participants are clearly aware of the
requirements.
6. Officials, coaches, volunteers, spectators and
swimmers must maintain current social distancing guidelines
throughout the meet. Some suggestions to help maintain social
distancing are, but not limited to:
a. Group
swimmers within a session to an assigned area to wait in between
races. This will also help with contact tracing if a positive test
of COVID-19 were to be reported after the meet. These swimmers, if
not in the water, should only be in their assigned area. Have
swimmers bring their own chair to use during the meet or an extra
towel to sit on. To comply with Safe Sport/MAAPP ensure at least 2
adult volunteers are present with swimmers when they are in areas
outside of the pool deck.
b. Add 1-2
volunteers per session to help monitor social distancing during the
meet, similar to meet/safety marshals.

Meet Procedure: |
There will be no spectators for this meet. Heats will swim from fastest to slowest. Meet warmup will occur in three 20 minute sessions, or two 30 minute sessions depending on number of athletes per session. Each Warm-up group will have between 24 and 40 athletes (3-5 swimmers per lane). Check-in will begin 15 minutes before the start of each warmup session and end 15 minutes into the start of the session. Following warmup, the group will go back to their seats where they will wait for their races. No athletes will be allowed to get up and move around unless specifically instructed & allowed by a coach or official. For races, athletes will wear their mask down to the block and carry their plastic baggie. Following each heat, we will allow the athletes a 90 second opportunity for cool down in the lane they raced in before exiting the pool. During these 90 seconds the next heat will come down to the staging area. After completing their cool down, the athletes will then exit the pool and immediately put their mask back on and then walk back to their assigned seat. Once a heat has completely walked away, we will allow the next heat to step forward to their blocks. There will be a heat staging area where the next heat will wait against the wall with their mask on. Athletes must keep their mask on and hold any belongings while in the staging area. Once the heat before them has put masks on and walked away from the blocks the athletes will be directed to step forward to their block, take off their mask, and place it in their baggie prior to their race. |
