BLST vs Veterans Park "Marlins" [Virtual] 7/23/2021

The pool is located at Splashdown Waterpark, 7500 Ben Lomond Park Drive, Manassas, VA 20109. There is parking near the Gate 4 entrance to the pool. Please make sure you lock your vehicle and stow your valuables out of site. We reserve parking for vehicles that are delivering equipment for the meet and bringing concessions. Please let team president know if there is a special parking request. Also, be careful driving in the parking lot as Splashdown is closing to the public at 6 PM, so there may be tired children walking from the pool. By contract with DPRT, no one is allowed into the Splashdown Waterpark area except team personnel designated for setting up the meet. 

For your swimmer(s) to participate in the meets, you absolutely must "Commit" them for each meet individually. It's necessary to declare your swimmer's intent to attend NO LATER THAN THE TUESDAY BEFORE THE MEET. If you're unsure, or your schedule is in flux; go ahead and sign up!  Swimmers may be removed from an event  more easily than they can be added. Even if you can only make it for a couple events, the team may need you! 

STEP 1: Commit your swimmer's attendance at the meet

STEP 2: Sign up for your volunteer position(s) for the meet.

STEP 1. Please help the coaches by committing your swimmers by Tuesday evening 7/20/2021. Swimmers should click the “Edit Commitment” button.  Select your swimmer's name and a new window will appear.  Use the drop down to indicate "Yes" if you plan to attend or "No" if you won't attend. Near the bottom use the check box to indicate "Day 1/Session 1". If not attending, use the note section so the coaches UNDERSTAND that swimmer is unavailable.

STEP 2. Please help us plan the meet by signing up for volunteer positions by Thursday evening 7/22/2021. To sign up for a volunteer position please click the “Edit Job Signup” button. Our jobs will be mixed with the jobs of our host. So we will have 3 lanes with 1 recorder/1 timer and 3 other lanes with 2 timers. We have sign up for 2 shifts, but if one of the shifts isn't filled, we'll have to use the volunteer from the other shift. Please, PLEASE sign up and fill these slots by Thursday.

Set up can start around 6:15 PM. Plan to arrive around 6:00 pm. Swimmers and volunteers should check in with volunteer coordinators (Yasmine Sosa and Iris Hernandez) arrival. If there are empty jobs that need to be filled, please volunteer at check in. This time may advance if we can get in earlier to set up. Children are not allowed into the park until the lifeguards are in position and Splashdown staff have invited the rest of the team in.

Flying Ducks will warm up from 6:30 to 6:50 PM. The meet will start at 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM or until finished. Swimmers should check out with your coach before departing to make sure all relays have enough swimmers. The team really needs assistance putting equipment away and cleaning up prior to leaving so please lend a hand so we can all leave on time.
