Just a reminder from the general meet info: there are no spectators allowed for this meet (a change from the published meet information) and swimmers must wear a mask when not in the pool.

Next, there will be A/B final heats for open  AND 13-14 swimmers. There will be just an A final for the 11-12 age group. IN REGARDS TO THIS - there won't be a penalty for swimmers that miss there preliminary swim....however, if a swimmer misses a final they will be scratched from the meet. IF a swimmer misses a Sunday final they will be assessed a 100$ fine from the meet host.

in regards to this, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SWIMMER to know whether or not they are qualified for finals. As a general rule, if a swimmer qualifies for finals WE DO NOT scratch finals. However, if a swimmer is just outside of the top final heats and they do not want to wait to see if they qualify by another, higher seeded swimmers scratching THEY MAY SCRATCH and it is the responsibility of the swimmer to scratch after discussing the matter with a coach. In my opinion and from experience, if a swimmers does not qualify for the top heats and does not intend to stay at the meet (particularly on Sunday) it is very wise to scratch REGARDLESS of seeding after the completion of the prelim event to ensure not being placed in finals and risking the 100$ fine (per event).
