This tournament will be governed under the rules and regulations of USA Swimming and Alaska Swimming, Inc. (ASI). It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Alaska Swimming, Inc. shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.

The 2023 Aqua Dog 50 Free Sprint Tournament is not an Alaska Swimming sanctioned event. However, Alaska Swimming understands that the swims will be observed by USA swimming officials and the event will conform to USA Swimming and Alaska Swimming rules and regulations. Therefore, the LSC, Alaska Swimming, will recognize the times from the event.

Masters swimmers desiring to compete must have current US Masters Swimming registration.

FACILITY

25-yard, 6-lane pool with Keifer Flo-Thru lane lines. Colorado Timing System 6 will be used with Colorado touchpads, 2-button semi-automatic backup, 1-button manual Dolphin stopwatches, 6-lane CTS display, and horn and strobe light start. Service is not a USAS Certified Pool as the competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4) of the USAS Rules and Regulations. Pool depth is: 4 ft deep end start/turn, 4 ft shallow end start/turn.



Eligibility

Open to all competitors.  Results for athletes currently registered with USA Swimming will be made official.

ENTRIES

  1. Each swimmer will be entered in the 50 Yard Free
  2. Entries must submitted online on Club Assistant software (you are here now).

RULES
1. Current USA Swimming and ASI rules govern this meet and take precedence over any item in this invitation.
2. Contestants will compete in the 50 yard Freestyle preliminary rounds

a. Results from both rounds of 50 Free heats will be used to rank contestants fastest to slowest.

3. The fastest six (6) women and fastest six (6) men will compete in the Round Robin heats

a. Each of the 6 fastest contestants will race, one on one, against every other contestant for a total of 5 Round Robin races.
b. Wins and Losses will be recorded, with the four (4) best win-loss records will move on in the tournament. In the event that there is a tie for the 4th best win-loss record, there will be a swim-off between the tied contestants.

4. The four (4) women and four (4) men with the best win-loss records will be entered into a championship bracket.

a. In the first round of the championship bracket:
i. The contestant with the top win-loss record will race the contestant with the 4th best win-loss record.
ii. The contestant with the 2nd best win-loss record will race the contestant with the 3rd best win-loss record.
b. In the Championship round of the championship bracket:
i. The two (2) winners from the first round will compete. The winner of the Championship round is the Aqua Dog.

  • Entry fees are paid by credit card during the online registration. You will see ClubAssistant.com on your credit card statement.
  • Early Entry Fee $35
  • Same Day Entry Fee $50
  • ENTRY DEADLINE: April 6th at 7pm

AWARDS

  • The Tournament Champions will be awarded large championship belts.
  • The Tournament Runners-Up will be awarded a random participation prize
