Meet Procedures & Format:

  • All events are timed finals; events 200 & shorter will be pre-seeded.
  • Swimmers must circle-in and provide their own timers/counter for 400 IM, 500 & 1000 freestyle.
  • Athletes should speak to their coach before and after each race, as well as before leaving any session of the meet.
  • Relays will be swum at the beginning of each session on Sat & Sun. Coaches will determine the best possible relay. Relays are seeded and entered ahead of time; changes will be announced at the meet. Athletes can earn their way on or swim their way off as the meet goes on.

Athlete/Family Information:

  • Be on-time or early for warm-up! This is essential to not “rush” and feel overwhelmed upon arrival.

·       Much like your coaches, the weather will be cooler than usual this weekend. Please pack warmer clothes, socks, and shoes. Staying dry and warm between races will help maintain good energy levels.

  • Bring dryland clothes and shoes for dynamic warm-up prior to each session – “warm-up to swim, not swim to warm-up”. Several athletes show up in sandals, crocs, and other non-athletic attire, which defeats the purpose of dynamic warm-up.
  • Indoor seating is limited – plan on outdoor setup. Weather is calling for showers on Sat AM & Sun PM.
  • Bring plenty of healthy snacks & fluids to stay fueled & hydrated.
  • Tag/Add @riceaquatics on social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) – Please post responsibly.
