2018 Devil Mountain Pentathlon at Dana Hills Swim

Here is information from the host team Dana Hills
We're less than a week away from our 24th annual Pentathlon. It
looks as though the weather might actually be in our favor this
year! A high of around 85 and lows of 58. I recommend bringing warm
clothes for the mornings and please be sure your pop ups
are staked down since we tend to see significant
winds! Our swimmer numbers are nearly the same as last year with
1134 participating! I anticipate that Saturday will wrap up around
4:00 pm at the latest however Sunday may be a bit longer. Please be
prepared for a longer day on Sunday!
Please note the following:
1. Downtown Clayton will be closed off on both Saturday and Sunday
for the local rib cook off. I included directions in your meet
packet but they are as follows:
Valley Road to Clayton
Road. Turn Right onto Clayton Road.
Clayton road will turn into Marsh Creek Road as you pass the fire
station and the fountain at Oakhurst. You will take a right hand
turn at Marsh Creek Road (Diablo View Middle School is on your
left) You will turn left onto Mountaire Parkway into Dana Hills
(entrance to Dana Hills). The Pool is on the corner
of Mountaire Parkway and the second intersection with Mountaire

6:30 pm on Friday July 13th. Please advise your team
members it's immensely difficult to have anyone show up early
especially while we're setting up and marking team areas. If they
do I may turn them away.
3. The meet starts at 8:30 SHARP. All swimmers will go
through the clerk of the course. They will not be allowed to go
straight to the blocks. Please make sure young children
are marked accordingly with last name, first name and their events
on their back right shoulders. We will be calling age groups to the
clerk as we proceed through the meet so please be sure to listen.

5. Programs will be available for sale on both Saturday and Sunday
morning. They're $7 a program and it includes a highlighter. We
will not sell programs on Friday evening.
6. The parking lot will be closed to allow for the safety of the
swimmers and team set up. If you need accommodations for handicap
please reach out to me and I will be sure that happens.
7. COACHES - The coaches will be allowed to set up on the tiers
behind the timers. You may bring a pop up (10X10 only) and set up
at 6:30 Friday evening. Again be sure the tents are dropped and
staked down. Last year we had several issues with an excessive
amount of noise and garbage in the coaching area so please be sure
to keep the noise level down and the area clean. We really

evening and for the duration of the meet while we still have them
to sell. The shirts and tanks are priced at $20 per shirt. We
charge an additional $3 for 2XL and up.
