Although a swimmer/coach may declare a false start in order to avoid the requirement to check-in after a no-show, swimmers/coaches are asked to properly scratch the evening before so that there are not empty lanes. Failure to complete in the finals round of a prelims/finals event will result in the swimmer being barred from all further competition. If a swimmer has no further competition from which to be barred, a $100 fine will apply. Any scratches from finals must be completed with the Administrative Referee. A swimmer not originally announced or posted as qualifying for finals, who is seeded in a final due to the scratch of another swimmer, will not be penalized for failing to swim in that final; however, swimmers finishing within the top forty (40) are asked to scratch from finals if they do not Form published June 27, 2017 (Use for meets that are held during 2017/2018 season) Page | 5 intend to swim, so that the Administrative Referee will be able to properly seed the meet for finals. MESSAGE FROM THE MEET DIRECTOR:
With more than 700 swimmers entered in the meet, this year's meet is the largest it has ever been. We are excited to be hosting this many swimmers, but, in order to do so, we will be running chase startsAM, AM, and AM. Doing so will require double the number of timers that a regular meet would.
As such, we are hoping that some of your families might be interested in spending some of the meet on deck instead of in the stands, and are looking to recruit volunteer timers from the attending teams. Please forward this link on to your parents and encourage them to sign up.
