NOTES FROM MEET MANGER:
June 27, 2018
Coaches, Swimmers and Parents-
Weather report looks great for the weekend but hot, please keep your fingers crossed. Seating will be available on the two large outdoor patios as deck space is limited so have your swimmers bring chairs, tents, sunscreen and sweatshirts to be prepared for any weather possible. Be aware that during thunder and lighting we will have to delay swimming.
We will be firing up the grill with hot dogs and burgers for coaches as well as for sale for parents and swimmers at our concessions stand, so get ready to eat some good grub!
PLEASE BE REMINDED NO GLASS CONTAINERS IN THE POOL AREA INCLUDING PATIOS!
Attached is the meet warm-up schedule, pre-scratch timeline and Psych sheet.
The pool and Spectator area will NOT OPEN until 15 minutes prior to warm-up times. Please tell your swimmers and parents this information so they are not waiting outside if they arrive too early.
Distance session events on Friday (800/1500) and Saturday (400IM) will need to provide your own timer and counter. All heats of the 400IM and 800 and 1500 FR will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys. Girls and boys may be combined if that requires fewer heats.
Coaches when you arrive at the pool please check in at the control office. If you owe money ($$$) please have payment ready. COACHES PLEASE NOTE SCRATCH DEADLINE is at the conclusion of the first warmup. I would advise to have your swimmers arrive early even if your team is second warm-up.
A note regarding warmups: We will use age divisions for warming up as we did last meet here. This meet has extra swimmers, and we will be making full use of the 50 meters available. I suggest half of the swimmers in each lane be managed from the far end to keep congestion down.
On Friday night we have a long program, so 800/1500 only swimmers are excluded from the initial warmup. We will have a brief warmup for them before the 800 as indicated. This is to allow all swimmers a chance at the distance events without instituting cuts, so your co-operation and support will be appreciated. Scratch deadline for these swimmers will be the commencement of the male 400FR – ie 5:30 approx.
We are required to have 3 timers for all the 50’s, so please be ready when your team is asked to help out for this brief period each session. Failure to provide 3 timers will result in those times not going into SWIMS per NE Swimming policy.
If you need anything, please see the Deck Manager's in a
Neon-Green Vest during the meet. This weekend is about the
swimmers, so let's have some FUN and swim fast!
Thanks Alan, Christie and Bluefish entire meet management crew!
