Description of Levels

Pool School 1

This introductory level involves building the swimmers’ confidence in order to be comfortable and move freely in the water. Pool School 2

This level further improves the skills learned in Pool School 1. In addition, floating, swimming underwater, underwater streamline, flutter and dolphin kick are introduced. More emphasis will be placed on learning how to breathe while performing these basic movements. At this point the swimmers are ready to take their skills to the “The Double-Lane”. The main goal through this progression is to take the swimmers from vertical to a horizontal plane on their front and back.

Pool School 2 Advanced

This level progresses to the 25-meter tank. To ensure safety, a light safety belt will be used as they continue to build confidence on “The Double-Lane”. The goal will be to keep the kids moving and to focus on balance and confidence. Autonomous swimming will be encouraged at the swimmers comfort level. Butterfly, flip turns and basic breast stroke movements will also be introduced.
