THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THIS MEET IS THURSDAY APRIL 19th, 2018!

Description - This is the Gators first long course meet of the season. Long course means that each length of the pool is 50 meters, unlike 25 yards, like we have at Grosse Pointe South. This is an ABC Meet, meaning all Gator swimmers can participate in the meet. This meet is held at a great new facility in Windsor, Canada. This will be the 5th year that we have attended this meet. Our swimmers have a lot of fun at this meet. It is a great meet to bring the whole family to. There is an awesome water park facility inside the aquatic center.

You will be crossing the border into Canada. Swimmers that are 15 and younger will need a birth certificate to cross.  Swimmers that are 16 and older will need a valid passport or enhanced driver's license/ID. Adults need a valid passport or enhanced driver's license/ID.

Meet Format - This meet is timed finals for all 12 & Under swimmers and is prelims/finals for 13 & Over swimmers except for the 400, 800 and 1500 free, 400 IM and Relays, which will be timed final events. The 400 Free and All Relays will be swimming during prelims. There will be an “A” Final heat for 200 meter events and “A” and “B” Final heats for 50 and 100 meter events. Finals will be broken up into 13, 14, and 15 & Over age groups.

Please note that the top (1) mixed heat (5 fastest males and 5 fastest females) from the Open 800 and 1500 Free will swim in finals on Saturday (1500) and Sunday (800). 13 & Up finals heats for events swam during the Friday evening session will be swam during Saturday and Sunday Finals. 200 Free and 50 Breast will swim during Saturday Finals and the 50 Back and 50 Fly will swim during Sunday Finals.

 

Friday Afternoon Session – This session is a timed final session for all ages. The Open 800 and 1500 Free will be offered, with the top seeded heat swimming in finals sessions Saturday & Sunday as described above. The 12 & Under 400 IM and 13 & Over 400 IM will also be offered. Each swimmer can compete in up to 2 individual events.

Friday Evening Session – The Friday evening session is for all ages. There will be 12 & under timed final events and 13 & over prelim events. Finals for these events will be swam in finals on Saturday and Sunday as described above.

Saturday/Sunday Morning – 13 & Over Swimmers will be swimming prelim events. Each swimmer can compete in up to 4 individual events and 1 relay per day.

Saturday/Sunday Afternoon - 12 & Under Swimmers will be swimming in the afternoon sessions.  Each swimmer can compete in up to 5 individual events.

Saturday/Sunday Evening – 13 & Over top 16 swimmers from prelims for the 50 & 100 events, top 8 for 200 events will be swimming in the finals at night.

 

Individual Entry Limits – Swimmers may enter a maximum of 2 individual events on Friday. Prelim/Final (13 & Up) swimmers may enter a maximum of 4 individual events and 1 relay each day on Saturday and Sunday. Timed final (12 & Under) swimmers may enter a maximum of 5 individual events each day on Saturday and Sunday.

Check-In: Swimmers are required to check-in starting 30 minutes before for start of warm-up for the 400 IM, 400, 800 and 1500 Free. Scratches for prelims are to be turned in before the start of the warm up session. The deadline for scratches for finals are 30 minutes following the completion of the morning session.

We would like all our swimmers to check-in and be on deck and changed 15 minutes before the start of warm-up. This allows the coaches to warm-up all our swimmers properly and together as a team.

Entry Fees: $10.00 for each individual event, $5.00 Swimmer Meet fee per swimmer and $10.00 GPG surcharge per swimmer. GPG will pay for all relays.

Please make sure that you indicate in the “Note” section anything that you feel is important for the coaches to know.
